LINK: Report: “Potential exit strategy” discussions have begun as to Bill Belichick:

quote:

Bill Belichick coached the Patriots for 24 seasons. He may not finish one at the college level. It sounds as if there’s a non-zero chance he doesn’t finish the current week.

quote:

Andrew Jones of 247Sports.com, an outlet owned by CBS, reports that “potential exit strategy discussions” occurred this morning at North Carolina. And while it doesn’t mean Belichick will be fired, “preliminary conversations” about the possibility have occurred. The goal reportedly would be to eliminate or minimize Belichick’s buyout.

quote:

Jones reports, citing an unnamed source, that “there are many other violations that have occurred, many on the recruiting front.” And Jones adds this at the end, as his “opinion” on the matter” “I don’t think it’s a lock that Belichick coaches the Cal game.”

quote:

To add insult to injury, members of Belichick's coaching staff are also already preparing to flee with some even reaching out to programs that are expected to make it to the CFB playoffs about potential roles, the report adds. Some staffers have reportedly predicted that the expected overhaul could come in the next two weeks with one saying that the 'rats are leaving the ship.'

They also alleged that Belichick's communication with his own coaches has become 'weird' and 'distant' over the past two weeks. The head coach was even said to be unreachable by some members of staff during UNC's recent bye week, which Belichick spent with his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, who has become an ever-present fixture on the sidelines of the Tar Heels' games

These UNC guys were so sure of their slam dunk hiring.

Bill has one thing on his mind - and it isn't the Jordan that's the logo on their jerseys...

I thought he demanded a GM be in place to handle all the recruiting stuff because he didn't want to. So then how would there be a bunch of recruiting violations?

Belichick surrounding himself with a 24 year old gold digger and that retard Michael Lombardi were two interesting choices.

Lombardi may have surpassed Bill Polian for number one dumbass in football for me

Clearly his NFL GM (Michael Lombardi) made a lot of mistakes in that department. Falls on the program & Belichick as well.

That would be a logical reason to get Bill out of town if they are facing potential sanctions for recruiting violations.

They basically said they were going to run the program like it was a "pro" team. While college football is becoming more and more "professional" by the year, the NCAA is still involved and there are still recruiting rules. I suspect the UNC staff frankly doesn't care enough to try to follow them.

Regardless, EVERY school has some degree of violations. No one is clean. But I suspect what is happening is that the faction of donors who didn't really want the hire are having their voices heard now, and they are looking for ways to end this experiment ASAP as cheaply as possible. You have an HC who is totally checked out, the results on the field are awful, and the only attention the program is getting is generated by the HC's gold-digging, attention seeking GF.

If you are at a place like UNC or Colorado it's worth a shot to try something different, some might call outlandish, to see if it works. The expectations for success or so low that there isn't a huge risk. But even after just 5 games it's pretty clear this isn't going to work and Belichick is too old and disinterested in trying to make it work.

Their players are awful, this has nothing to do with violations. Lombardi just wrote like an 1800 word essay on why they have bad players. He’s a total fricking clown, but he’s one of Bill’s guys so he always keeps him around

Most normal people were REALLY skeptical over this hire for good reason.

Its been more disastrous than anyone could have possibly imagined.

Hard to believe the dude we all knew that was so by the book and stern with the Pats let himself go this route

Staff is full of nepo babies. Might be the worst coaching tenure since Chad Morris at Arkansas.

I wanna see him stick around for the full contract. Its not like UNC football was worth a frick before he got there anyway.

I figured it was a low risk, high reward type of hire. His contract was only guaranteed for the first 3 years. So UNC wasn't really locked in long term and would be easy to cut ties after year 2 if it wasn't working out. And I assumed that a coach with Belichick's resume would help UNC a lot in recruiting.

I under estimated the power of 24 year old pussy.

This was always a rebuilding year for them. The only reason they’d get rid of him now is that along with the many other distractions

Their players are of a G5 level and there is a 24 year old gold digger running the program FROM THE SIDELINE
