They are truly the scourge of the workplace. How do you deal with these frustrating people?

I imagine that is a pretty rare experience for anyone to relate to.

We hired a guy once that came highly recommended. We were roughing in a fire alarm in housing units at a rehab place out in the country that had multiple trailers for the patients to sleep in. Went to the building he was supposed to be working in, and this mf’er was sleeping on the floor. First fricking day on the job.
We let him finish the day and fired him when we got back to the office.

Are they lazy or are they burnt out or miscast? My skill set is creative problem solving, and I'm really good at it, but it's borderline impossible to do that shite for 60 hours a week for half a year. I'm a hard worker, and I'm succeeding even though I can barely stay awake, but all the burn out signs are there. I've already told my work that I will be taking off most of January. I love the job, but just a ton of pressure and four solid months of long, long hours.

Such a stupid question.
Everyone has worked with a slacker, overachiever, felon, etc
If you have 5 people in a workplace, they'll all be different. Shocker!

The absolutely worst slackers are the ones that do not do the work and claim ownership of work done by other employees to justify their time.

I'd much rather manage a lazy person who's positive than a toxic person who works hard. Lazy people can't be avoided sometimes.
