What do you do to build this team?

We have so many holes, it’s really hard to know where to begin. I’d personally go DE best player available.

I’d also try to pick up another run stopper for the Dline in free agency.

We’ve drafted to beef up the online, it’s time to upgrade the dline.

DE or WR. We need a complete stud playmaker on this team.

Wouldn’t say QB is off the table. But if we don’t go QB I think I want Reuben Bain Jr. The DE from Miami

I wasn't aware the draft order was set. Good to know.

How awkward is Thanksgiving dinner going to be at the Nussmeier home in 2026?

It’s not, it’s a hypothetical situation, but you knew that.

QB is off the table because everyone would say QB.

I want a true number 1 WR. We are gona need it regardless.

Never been big on trading down but if Rattler continues to progress than we need quite a few skill positions...WR, TE, probably RB

I want a mix of the Jets/ Giants from the last few years.

Kayvon Thibodeaux DE
Malik Nabers WR
Abdul Carter DE
Cam Scattebo RB

Garrett Wilson WR
Armand Membou OT (need OG)
Mason Taylor TE

We need a stud WR/ DE preferably a DE or DT first. I'd say

1. DE/ DT
2. WR
3. TE
4. OG

We could’ve just picked him this year.

Anyway, I want one of three positions,
DE
Corner
Receiver.

It’s way too early for draft talk, but here is who I’m watching.

DE: Rueben Bain Jr. & Keldric Faulk
WR: Jordyn Tyson, Chris Brazzell & Denzel Boston
DT: Christen Miller
OT: Francis Mauigoa & Kydyn Proctor
QB: LeNorris Sellers & Fernando Mendoza
S: Caleb Downs

ML will never do it, but the Saints need to trade back and accumulate picks. The only way this team gets better is if they get younger. Too many has-beens and over priced legacies.

In order to trade down you need a partner. It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be a ton of bouncing around in the draft given the lack of QBs.

The first thing you address is OG in free agency. You build this from O-line out. If you can run block and pass block makes everything on the offense side ball work so much better. Then in the draft if you don't think you have Qb the roster then get that there. Then a WR maybe.

if QB is off the table, then you have to get guys that can keep the one you are staying with upright

Both tackles from Utah can play the guard position. One of them in particular is great at pass blocking, which the Saints suck at. So I would trade back and try to acquire an extra pick later in the draft. And take one of the Utah lineman

Outside of QB, the "premium" positions are:

Edge rusher (DE/OLB)
LT
CB
Pass rushing DT

I don't think even the Saints would take a tackle 3 drafts in a row. Cross that position off.

WR is a need, but you can get great ones in the middle of the 1st round, into the second, and sometimes even the 3rd. This WR class doesn't look exceptional. So I don't think using the #4 pick to take one would be a great pick.

To me that leaves Edge or CB, unless you feel Downs is a truly rare talent at Safety (a position not taking in the top 5 very often)
