Interesting article/perspective - I’ve ridden with Xbox for a long time as have my friends and lately the moves have me scratching my head and feeling a bit Sega-esque but I’ll stick with them for the rest of this generation and see where it goes next gen and make a choice then since I’ve go so much into it at this point.

Yea... just like prices weren't going to go up after they acquired Activision-Blizzard

The whole "This is an xbox" campaign was the most transparent bullshite ever when it comes to setting up their future plans. The are going to transition xbox into a platform/brand, not a dedicated piece of hardware.

Ah, the way of Sega and Atari… NICE!!!

It will just be like a dedicated platform on PC. Like an app that brings up the XBOX lobby/home screen and you play from there.

I disagree with the price hikes, but to be fair, PS also hiked the prices on their consoles, and PS and Nintendo also raised the prices on new games. Microsoft wasn't alone in this move.
They're all lying about it being because of tariffs, but let's not pretend MS did this in a vacuum or in a way that would have jeopardized their purchase of ABK.

Which is fine… but there are better options tha XBox PC. Get rid of all that crap and just have a game development division and release the games on Pc via Steam and PlayStation or other consoles.

Is Steam about to get Netscaped by Microsoft?

I put this in the same box as Elder Scrolls 6. I'll believe it when I see it.

If they go the PC/console hybrid route its going to be pricey. Their competition will no longer really be the casual console market but the gaming computer market. IF they can produce a fairly powerful gaming PC at a relatively low cost at scale...(say around $1000-1200).they may have something there....

This reminds me of the story arc on Silicon Valley when that new CEO came in and immediately announced that they were going to start selling “The Box” and it didn’t really do anything
