After this season I have ready his buyout plus assistants is around $70 mil.

So that total is $70 mil to fire Kelly, probably $100 mil for the next coach and staff plus the money it takes for a competitive roster.

Do yall actually think that’s possible?

Kelly is so unlikable, that I think there's a greater than 0% chance that one of our billionaire fans might just be willing to fork up the cash.

Also, it's $60 mil after this year for kelly, ~5 to 10 mil for his shite staff, + NIL money for this incoming recruiting class, +1 year salary for Blake Baker. Gets you the opportunity to keep one of the best defensive coaches available on staff past this year, because there's 0 chance he stays past this year otherwise.

The alternative is Blake Baker leaves and we suck in all 3 phases for the next 6 years. Maybe we're good in 1/3 or 2/3 phases, but BK loses us 4 games with inept coaching decisions, lack of preparation, and poor fundamentals, and we get 5-10 more press conference highlights on the front page of ESPN with the entire world making fun of us and damaging our brand.

its stupid anyways. unless your program is a complete disaster fire you keep your coach nowadays with the NIL and Transfer Portal world. All money should be spent on retaining and getting new players.

No need to fire the entire staff.

What would it cost with just Kelly, Sloan, and Davis?

The next coach would simply dismiss any remaining staff for whom he wishes to replace with his own staff.

No. This is ABSOLUTELY not possible. Kelly could lose every single game left, by 40+ or more, and he wouldn't get fired. Not this year. And probably not next year either.

These posters you're referring to are just stupid, so you should probably discount anything they say.

This is what hurts the most.

Wherever Kelly goes, hatred follows. And it really does damage the brand. Only question is how long does the stench last after he's gone?

Idk why we pay up on coaches like this. It’s mind blowing. Leave yourselves a freakin out if they suck.

Try way more than 100 for the next guy if you can Kelly with his worst season being 9-4.

Yes, I agree. Not fireable. All thanks to our great AD and his fictional great hiring and negotiating powers. Is there anyone that will still defend this man? He overpaid for Mulkey in a minor sport that still loses money despite her success on the court. A success that is now probably on the downside after one championship. His men's basketball coach is a total disaster from start to finish and no, there will be no great turnaround this year as much as I would love it. The only winner he still has is the baseball coach. The AD's only ability is to talk boosters into throwing huge sums of money at candidates and then giving them virtually unlimited contracts which almost guarantee subpar performance because of no incentive to have a winner.

I want him fired, but I understand it’s not happening.

That ship has already sailed. I’m no longer donating and I know that I’m not the only one after this debacle.

That’s not how it works in big boy college football. Are you suggesting we go cheap with the hire? In demand coaches aren’t coming for lower contracts or contracts with no significant buyout clauses.

one of our billionaire fans

How many of these do we have? I know Todd Graves and maybe a few others, but I’m not sure they have been donating big money.

I don’t think it will happen but Jimbo was $75M and aTm made it happen. You can argue we don’t have the pockets aTm does, but if revenue starts to slip I think it starts to become a cost benefit calculation sooner than people are acting like.
