Maybe this game will be like the Auburn series was for the baseball team?

I know it's all doom and gloom around here, BK sucks, two different sports etc. but looking back there are a lot of similarities between the Auburn series in baseball this past year and the Ole Miss game this past weekend.
Neither AU or OM were more talented than LSU or all that impressive. Sam fricking Dutton mowed us down and we lost to Sage Ryan. We couldn't hit against AU's mediocre pitching staff just like we couldn't run against OM's mediocre DL. We saw the baseball team make huge offensive strides following that Auburn series and the losses gave a spark to the team after getting absolutely embarrassed by an opponent that was honestly pretty mediocre.
Jay is a cut above as a coach but it would be awesome to see the football team take this loss in stride and turn the offense around just like we saw with the baseball team. Honestly, our offense in baseball was never some juggernaut this past year, they just figured out ways to get timely hits and play a style of baseball that complimented our insane pitching and fielding. It shouldn't be too much to ask that of our offense in football. BK needs to figure it out.

Apples to oranges. This offense won’t get fixed mid season. Anyone who thinks (hopes) otherwise is kidding himself.

I'd like for this to be true but baseball offense and football offense are 2 very different things. Baseball is a streaky game. In this football offense we have nothing working right now: blocking, run game, deep passes. Only thing we do well sometimes is quick screens and 5 yd curls

It’s College Football. Its a volatile sport. LSU has the pieces to get hot. It’s not like we don’t have a playoff quality personnel

This is true our offense is horrible in football right now. The one hope that I have is that we can have an offensive turnaround like we did to an extent in 2022. Of course having Jayden Daniels was 95% of that, but he was not yet the Jayden Daniels that we know and love today. Here is a breakdown of that turnaround:
First half of the season:
FSU: 23 points (didn't score a TD until the 4th quarter)
Moo St: 31 points (shutout until right before halftime and had only 10 points until the 4th quarter)
Auburn: 21 points (Jay Ward had a defensive score)
Tennessee: 13 points (one of the worst arse kickings in TS ever)
Second half of the season:
Florida: 45 points
Ole Miss: 45 points
Bama: 32 points (defense played out of their minds)
Then we had a lull again against Arky and ATM which obviously cannot happen this year. All I'm saying is that it can be done and BK is paid enough and has the resources to turn this around. Whether he will remains to be seen.

We have the personnel. We do not have the coaching on the offensive side of the ball. We just don’t. They were dead last in rushing offfense in the conference last year. They are well on their way to replicating that this year. And if the second string QB is your solution to the offensive woes, then you have no solution.
The defense can’t pitch shut outs every game, and Baker still hasn’t demonstrated that he can scheme for a running QB, several of whom are left on the schedule.

I actually thought the scheme to defend Chambliss was decent. The defense got worn out because they never had a break.

The baseball team has a championship caliber coach. The football team doesn't. BK is great at stabilizing a programming, and he's very good at it. Though, that seems to be his ceiling.

He threw for over 300 yards and averaged over 5 YPC. I agree that the defense got gassed, though.

The offense the way it executed and performed in week 1 was fine. You can’t do that week in and week out, but it showed we are more than capable.
Have to hope if it was injury related that he’s healed and the offense can find some rhythm.

I think a better comparison dates back to 2012, and it's between football and football, not apples and eggs.
LSU had just come off an offensive stinker losing to Florida 14-6. Less than 50 yards rushing and two first downs on the ground, both in the first quarter. In fact, LSU took a 6-0 lead in the first, on two field goals. The passing game for the Tigers was little better; they produced one significant passing play the entire game, trailing 7-6 early in the fourth quarter a 45-yard reception into Florida territory which was fumbled on the same play.
The Tigers had numerous offensive line injuries, and it showed vs Florida. Somehow the team took a cue from poet laureate Taylor Swift and were able to "shake it off"! Just seven days later Miles assembled a retooled offensive line and ran the football with deadly efficiency in beating undefeated, #3 ranked South Carolina in Tiger Stadium.
Is Miles a miracle worker, or what? Can CBK somehow duplicate the Miles magic?

What does this have to do with his point that the offense won’t suddenly get fixed mid season? If we can’t run the ball or pass the ball effectively against good teams, we still won’t sniff a 12 team playoff
