Did anyone ask CBK why could our 5 not block their 3?

Sometimes we had 6 blockers with the running back.

Pretty sure on the one sack, there were 6 blocking 3

Why? So he could call them spoiled again?

I get what you are saying but what were the other 8 doing on defense, and more importantly how many were in the box? a 3 man front doesn't mean you can run at will against them if the lbs and safeties are playing down hill. With the passing we have seen from Nuss all year I think most defenses are not a bit concerned about long throws. I wish someone could tell me how many pass plays have been 5 yards or shorter. Yes our rushing offense is crap...but so is our passing offense.

Did it look to you like the lbers and safeties were playing downhill? With 3 down lineman, run some power and pull a guard to give you numbers. C and RG double the NT, RT blocks the end, pulling LG gets to the second level and blocks the backer. That should be 3-4 yards per play with the opportunity to pop some bigger runs if your RB can make a safety miss. For some reason, we refuse to do this.

And last years O-Line was terrible run blocking. Watch film from last year and this year, much the same. The O-line does not know what to do and there is no scheme to run blocking. Anyone that watches other teams or film knows run blocking requires finesse, and its as if our O-line has not knowledge of what or how to block. Only difference with last year the O-line last year could pass block, this years line, not so much. Coaching is the problem, period.

My point is the number of DL doesn't matter as much as how many are in the box. Also we didn't try enough runs. Our offense this year is predominately passes in the flat, very little success throwing deep passes. I would think any DC studying film of LSU 2025 offense would keep most of their defense withing 10 yards of LOS. Our running game is non existent...is that bc of play calling or blocking? Our downfield passing game is terrible...wouldn't making the defense defend deep help our run offense out?

If it is obvious to me I am sure DC's see Nuss has an arm issue and his downfield passes aren't crisp or accurate...wg=hich makes LSU pretty easy to defend.

Either the DL was making the tackle or the LBer easily made the play because our OL hardly ever gets to the second level because we refuse to run anything other than a zone blocking scheme. LBers and safeties don't have to play downhill to stop the run. Our running game is so slow to develop, they can read the play as it's happening and fill the hole.
