After nearly 20 years, Reading Rainbow is making its return.
Thousands signed a petition urging PBS to revive the show with librarian and content creator Mychal Threets as the host.
Reading Rainbow first aired in 1983 with the mission of sparking kids’ love for books. Over its 26-year run, the show received more than 250 awards, including a Peabody Award and 26 Emmys, before ending in 2006. Now, the reboot will release new episodes hosted by Threets every Saturday on KidZuko, a Sony Pictures YouTube channel.
The journey continues...

Always enjoyed Reading Rainbow growing up.
Seems like it’ll be pretty easy to avoid if it’s not your thing in the way it’s rebooted.

Been waiting for the board to get ahold of this one. :ohboy:
Sounds like a “my kid has waaaay too much screen time” issue because I’ve never heard of this channel.
But it’s cool the show lives on and assuming they stick to the format it’ll be fine. I remember when the guy went viral a few years ago. Seems authentic and passionate about reading. First downvote.

I was tempted to post “countdown to an LGBTQ book reading by a drag queen in 3…2…1” but wasn’t wanting to go political this early.
Why does everything have to be gay or political for them? The right isn’t demanding story time with Tucker Carlson describing the dangers of socialism.
Just leave the sex and politics out of shows for 4 year olds. Absolutely no reason for this outside of indoctrination of children.

Y'all do love dreaming about gays and trans people invading y'all's lives. Kind of suspect not going to lie.
All we know about this is it's a reboot of a classic kids show from the 90s. But leave it to this board to immediately mention the gays and trans people

“ Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation where one person causes another to question their reality, memories, or perceptions, often leading to confusion and self-doubt.”
Presented with irrefutable visual evidence of the left infusing LGBT messaging into shows intended for 5 year olds you come in here apparently wanting to convince people that we’re imagining it?
What conceivable innocent reason is there for wanting kindergartners to be exposed to gay sexual content?
And no, this isn’t the only example. We had to yank books off the elementary school shelves in FL that were actual cartoon porn that you and those who continually support this filth first pretended didn’t exist then slinked away when the pictures of what it contained were made public.
So do you or do you not support putting sexual content in front of children in elementary school? If you’re for it be “brave” enough to admit to your position.

Do you scurry your kids away when you see a gay couple in public? Do you also throw a temper tantrum anytime straight couples show up in kids books?

gay sexual content?
Good thing that's not happening

actual cartoon porn
Sure
Nobody is putting porn in kids books but keep beating that drum

Would I if they were being put in explicitly sexual situations or telling prepubescent children to question their sexuality? Yes.

It is would you like examples of the books with explicit sexual content that were pulled off my child’s elementary school library shelf at school just a few years ago following an audit?
You’re playing the cowards game of pretending something isn’t happening rather than defending the actual substance of what’s right in front of everyone’s faces.
If it’s justified defend it.
If it’s not stop defending it.

“Gender Queer,” an illustrated memoir, contains explicit illustrations of oral sex and masturbation. The novel “Lawn Boy” contains graphic descriptions of sex between men and children. Both books were previous winners of the American Library Association’s Alex Awards, which each year recognize “ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults ages 12 through 18.”
These books were both on the shelf at our local library in the children’s section until FL law had them pulled.
This article is from VA, but it documents and proves what I'm saying is accurate.
I can’t even post the illustrations here because it could be deemed child porn.
These books were even being sold by Scholastic as part of their book fair offerings.
AP: School System Pulls Books with Graphic Sex From Shelves
It’s not even subjective, you’re just wrong and a coward because you still refuse to even state for the record whether you agree or disagree with presenting sexual content to children in schools.
