Lock on in a beech tree in St. Tammany. Sweating.

Not super mad at them this year. Not a whole lot of good bucks around yet. Haven’t missed an opening day of bow season in 13 years though, so here I am. Should be a pretty morning regardless and it’s nice to be back in the woods.

Good luck y'all.

If I'm lucky my deer seasonal allergies will force me to leave work early to make a quick hunt. If not, I'll be out there Friday.

Been watching a young 4pt browse around for about 20 minutes. He almost caught me drinking my coffee when he walked up. The offseason really makes you forget how quickly these critters can sneak up on you .

About to hop down and go to work. Wound up seeing 5. 4pt, 3 does, and a fawn. One of the does was a hammer and gave me a couple of chip shots, but I couldn’t tell which deer the fawn was with so I let them walk. Maybe this weekend.

I can’t even think about taking my bow out to practice in this weather, much less hunt in it. Kudos to yall that do…I just ain’t that mad at them anymore.

I have a bachelor group of some damn good deer coming out before dark and still can’t get fired up when it’s 90+ outside.

And it only took him 15 years to post the pic.

Good luck! I'm going to get a quick evening sit in once I get off work. I'll be hunting on the edge of a 130-acre bean field that butts up against a bayou on the other side. I don't know what is out there yet so I'll treat it as an observation sit and will just be happy to see anything. Once the beans are harvested, I can put some feed out to draw things in. There just isn't any reason to right now with the beans everywhere.
