To those of you criticizing Miles and His Word

I submit to you the following into evidence.
Exhibit A: Kenny Bell, a solid verbal commit to LSU, only to don an Alabama hat and shirt on signing day and screw his word.
Exhibit B: Janzen Jackson, a solid verbal commit to LSU, only to make us wait another day to find out he's really a Vol instead, and screwing his word.
DeAngelo Benton is a kid who was given two years to get his academics together while LSU held a scholly open for him, with absolutely no guarantee, to the contrary as a matter of fact with much speculation, that he will be able to keep his grades up and compete his freshman requirements in order to play a down of football for LSU.
So what are we to learn from people's word, and why would LSU sacrifice life and limb on a guy who hasn't been able to demonstrate consistency in academics to be able to play football for LSU, especially since we could easily end up with ZERO WR talent from this years crop if we did go with Benton over Randal?
LSU better look out for LSU, because that's the only one looking out for LSU and LSU's best interests. That's the truth. Similarly, the talent out there isn't looking out for anyone but themselves and don't give two shakes about their own word.

its time to be sabanesque.... dont pick and choose your recruits... just recruit everything in sight, then when you lose a few like this, youre still stacked.
becuase we didnt, we only have 1 WR, and how many CBs in this class?

IMO, the only people who can criticize JJ are the ones who have criticized LSU for the pulling of benton

The difference is miles is an adult and LSU is a highly distinguished academic institution. These are 17/18 y/o kids. I take the opposite from this. College football is a business, incoming recruits should realize this and take their time and look at all possible options before committing. Not saying this doesn't occur at other institutions but for lsu to pull a scholarship offer that was standing for 2 years and when the young man becomes qualified you pull it at the last second to bring in the next hot shot recruit just looks bad. i don't fault J. Jackson, K. Bell or D. Benton for looking out for their best interests and going someplace where they feel they have the best oppurtunity to play. I know la high school football coaches will take notice of this.

I say its time to stop talking and start kicking some arse on the football field. There is no greater tool for recruiting than winning championships. Just ask JT Curtis?

Remember when football was a team sport?

could not disagree more.
jj did not change his mind on nsd, he did it AFTER and AFTER he said it would be lsu.
miles was put in a very tough spot and made the best call he could. please tell me tough spot that jj was put in?

Somebody actually gets it. Those guys and their families are only using college as a stepping stone to go pro and get rich. That's why they don't want the competition from other star players at their positions.
