Tina Turner’s fans seem to agree that a new statue of the late music legend is simply not the best.

The 10-foot-tall bronze statue was unveiled Saturday during the annual Tina Turner Heritage Days celebration in Turner’s hometown of rural Brownsville, Tennessee. It depicts the “What’s Love Got to Do with It” singer, who died in May 2023 at age 83, performing in a mini-skirt and heels while holding a microphone.

Fred Ajanogha, the Atlanta-based sculptor who created the statue, reportedly paid extra attention to capturing the essence of Turner’s hair, which he compared to the “mane of a lion,” according to the Associated Press.

With all the advancement in technology in the world we have still yet to master the statue of a human being. It's remarkable how bad some are.

If you just cut the head off of it most people who know Tina would recognize it, but the head looks like she has downs syndrome.

The DEI sculptor was burning plenty of proud Mary while he was working. I think they paid $150k for this pile of shite too.

Sculptor must've trained under the guy who did the original Lucille Ball statue in New York.

We may not need another hero, but we definitely need another artist.

Laughed myself to tears the first time I saw a pic of that Lucy statue. It looked like Christopher Walken.

We have gotten worse and worse over the years.

They were pretty damn good at making statues just 100 years ago.

Hell, they were amazing a few hundred years ago.
