As of right now, this seems to be the draft to trade down in…

Now before folks come for me and sky scream “we still have the whole college season to assess QB’s!!” (I don’t disagree), but as of right now, there is talent to be had all over the field ; and God knows we could use more picks.

I know it’s a far-fetched fantasy, but as it stands, I’d like to trade down our probable top 3 pick to collect assets.

What say the geniuses?

Need someone willing to trade up to do so.

Would a team like the NYJ, Miami, Cleveland, or Las Vegas do so? Not sure they would either.

Which means nobody will want to trade up. And all you people will be here bitching that Loomis got fleeced for not getting 3 1st rounders for moving back 5 spots.

If there isn’t a great QB, take the best pass rusher or best WR. No QB is coming in and winning with this team. We need difference makers. Get them at the top of the draft. Get an OG or CB with the second pick.

People say this every year and when the draft gets here there are clearly special players near the top.

eh, this may also be the year to get a damn good Edge rusher like a Myles Garrett to give us something to pin our rebuild around.

Maybe we have to wait another year to get our QB and suck with Shough

We need a bonafide, sure fire pick next April.

Have to hit on it.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a WR, LB, TE, etc.

Take the best talent available whenever you pick. This team needs an infusion of talent.

If there isn’t a qb then take whatever top flight prospect is available. Only give up that talent if you’re getting future first from a shitty team which is kinda doubtful if there aren’t the special QBs.

I don’t even care if we aren’t taking “premium positions” at this point. Just get some guys who are great at their positions with a lot of future potential. If you want to take running backs, TEs, MLB, whatever. Just get difference makers.

This. Take a pass rusher to build a defense around or take the next Jamar Chase to give Rattler or Shough or the next QB somebody to throw to.

I’d say never pass on elite talent.

Don’t reach for a QB. But if there is a true elite player I’d take him unless you are getting a ridiculous return.

If there is a player up there, presumably a QB, that is worth trading a bounty to move up and get, then the team will probably choose not to move down and will just take the player. This has been the philosophy of the organization for 20+ years at this point.

Throw in that we have not picked inside of the top 8 since 2006 (and it's technically not even guaranteed we will this time - we have a VERY EASY schedule going forward). Things can change fast...what if we trade down and then the next year pick at 12? or 15? Now suddenly we can't get a QB without reversing course and giving up all those assets to have to go UP and get one

IMO there will be 3-5 first round QBs this year. If you have a high pick and you like one, you take them. End of story.

The 1st thing that has to happen is for Mickey to step down as GM move up in the organization and hand it over to the guy they just hired earlier this year. They also need to upgrade the scouting dept.Only then will they move forward.

Everyone acts like trading down is so easy. If there isn’t anyone worth a top pick for a desperate franchise like us, there likely isn’t a team willing to trade a lot for the pick.

Rueben Bain Jr
TJ Parker
Keldric Faulk
Matayo Uiagalelei

If we trade back to pick up an extra 1st, will anyone of those 4 edge rushers be there?

I’d like us to have the #1 pick to have max options. I don’t care if we pick or trade down, but I want Moore to have his best possible outcome.

It depends. You don’t know what a team’s needs are and who they really want.

We need linemen.

Load up on the O line and D line. Center. Guard or another pass rusher.

Give CKM a top offensive line. Build around Banks and Fuaga. Or build around Carl and Breese.
