You're still on it, Darth.
Once the A2s came out, they did change the fire commands a bit to account for the CITV and target designation.
Now the Tank Commander doesn’t yell "Fire", he yells "Fire and Adjust" because once the Gunner says "Identified", the TC doesnt sense or ibseeve that target anymore, he is using the CITV to scan and identify other potential targets. The Gunner now has to sense his own targets, instead of the TC sensing target destroyed, overline, etc. Hence the adjust command. It gives the Gunner the authority to sense the target and reengage if necessary.
These legs wouldn't understand the intricacies of 4 people all having to be on the same page to fight your tank and kill and destroy the enemy.
