Who has the skinny on Cane’s vs Bailey’s?

I remember they were adjacent to each other (it was Cane’s #2 location). They were to me, identical in menu and quality, but Cane’s building was new & nicer (may have rehabbed). Surely someone has more info than what AI can piece together.

Bailey's was better. It is literally a story on location wins. Canes was much easier to get in and out of. Bailey's was a bitch - especially if you were coming from Highland.
Additional things that did Baileys in was that their employees gave everything away for free. Seriously... Everything. If you knew someone there you were getting free stuff. They also would trade other businesses for a bunch of food. So the employees would trade a bunch of chicken and fries for daiquiris and drinks. The land also became valuable which was also the undoing oh Noah's right there - although Baileys closed about a year and a half before Noah's sold out.

RiP Frickin Chicken. The GOAT of BR fast food chicken.

Exact same menu but Bailey’s was definitely better. They actually seasoned their chicken.

Wasn’t Bailey’s in an old Fast Track building they just painted green?

I remember with Baileys they ran an add in every Tiger Weekly. $4.25 for 5 fingers, bread, fries, and drink. Was a great deal. Later we had friends that worked at Baileys and they would hook it up. But canes would be packed and Baileys dead.
I don't know why canes did so much better. The food tasted the same. Baileys had slightly different bread using normal shaped Texas toast. Also they pushed a honey mustard sauce while caes had their famous sauce. Back then canes sauce was unlimited. You pumped it yourself from a sauce dispenser.

Lol. We used to drive away from Baileys with bags full. Yes their employees robbed them blind.

One slow Saturday long ago, my husband, BIL, and I did a chicken tender tasting. Canes, Baileys, Popeyes and Churches. No Zaxbys here at that time.
Baileys came in second to Popeyes. We all liked it better than Canes. Sad that it was the loser in the head-to-head on Highland.
(Churches…yack.)

Were Bailey’s Fingers bigger than Canes? I seem to remember them being huge. Or maybe Canes just shrunk so much over time.

Thanks all. While they apparently had operating issues and a poorer location, I remember them being a cheaper Cane’s clone. Seems like now, if someone could open a consistent chain, but at a lower price-point, they would print money.

Piccadilly had them barnyard pimp chicken fingers. Three tenders was a meal. Nobody was eating six of those

Tough to do especially when Cane's can secure better pricing due to larger contracts.

My roommate worked at Baileys and used to bring bags of chicken home after his shift. My assumption is we bankrupted the place

The Reville published an article comparing the two : tenders , toast, sauce , and slaw
I don’t remember who won the reville war.
I do remember that Baileys toast was superior( Texas toast) , the chicken was seasoned , and the boxes were always overflowing.

They still have it available to read LINK
The article was in the Reveille about 5 months before Baileys closed.

Came down to bread and location in my opinion. I like Bailey's better.

I know we one time had a party and catering for the party was a giant garbage bag full of chicken and bread. We had so many chicken fingers we had a food fight in the parking lot of Plantation Trace.

From what I recall/was told Graves was looking for investors and was told no by one of them. Once Graves opened the Cane's north of campus and it was wildly successful the guy that told him no opened the Bailey's south of campus. That pissed Graves off and built the Cane's across the street from them in hopes of shutting them down.
