How much to buy a keg of beer in BR?

Have a party this weekend and interested in buying a keg. Where would you go for this?
Can you do a half a keg? Does the brand/name of beer differ with price? Ex: would Ultra be cheaper than Blue Moon?
Is a keg more cost effective?
Never done this but kicking the idea around.

Go buy bottled and canned beer like an adult.

I used to get mine from Hokus or Rally Cap but I think you can get them from Albertsons also. There will be a $50 keg fee that you get back once you return the keg.
I think kegs are a pain in the arse and will never do another kegerator.

Albertsons always had good deals on kegs while I was in college. Try there or cuban liquor

A few years back, we did a couple's trip to a friend's place in Gulf Shores. I bought 2 kegs and brought them in the back of my truck. Got there and one of our friends said "aren't we a little old for this?"
Hardly anyone drank the keg beer. I came home with a keg and a half of beer and hurt feelings.

Don’t listen to these pussies. Nobody wants to do a “whole bunch of bottles and cans” stand….

If you have the proper setup to keep the kegs cold with ice and salt then it's the superior way to drink large amounts of beer.

Is Catering Kegs still around? They always had the best prices and selection imo.
They were off Gardere and Perkins

Iknow Total Wine in nola has kegs on hand in beer freezer. Check the Total Wine in BR. You will have to put a 50 dollar keg deposit down that they will give you back when you bring the empty keg

Total Wine has 1/4 kegs, 1/2 kegs, 1/6 kegs. Usually miller lite, dos equis, michelob, yeungling lager, modelo, bud light, coors, and often other stuff like paradise park, fat tire, mango cart, blue moon.

That’s the first thing that comes to mind to me when someone mentions kegs and Baton Rouge.
But I have no freaking clue. I assume the drinking age/frat party restrictions likely torpedoed them.

Total Wine has a variety of sizes and beers you can check online.

The frick kind of question is this?

The standard keg you think of is actually a half keg. But to answer the question, yes they have quarter kegs as well.

Of course. The cheapest would be something like natty light, then domestics like bud or miller, then fancier stuff like blue moon followed by any imports.

Absolutely. It's the cheapest way to get a bunch of beer.

We did keg parties in high school and college all the time. Now days, it's nostalgic and kind of fun to get a keg if you are hosting a big crawfish boil or some kind of party for 20 or more people.
