Does anyone else hate all instant replay reviews in sports?

The last thing baseball needed was robot umps and having to go to reviews.

Can’t it just be ok to have a human element, it’s just entertainment, we are not splitting atoms

If it was up to me baseball would get rid of a lot of changes (no DH, no inter league, a lot more day games, old school stadiums, no pitch count)

It has ruined baseball for sure. Made sense for football at the time, but I’d be fine outlawing it across all sports if possible.

F no. Refs and umps have become way too awful. And you can’t allow it to happen when you have dozens of HD cameras seeing it from numerous angles.

They used to be able to hide it with one or two semi-fuzzy camera angles. This change had to happen.

Ridiculous. Getting an out or safe call actually correct at 1st base has not ruined baseball.

You have the ability to get it right? Get it right. Especially if you have a dedicated review center on it immediately and umps don’t have to overrule themselves and take 5 minutes

I’d agree if it didn’t turn into challenging balls/strikes or calling guys out for popping off the bag by a count hair on a slide.

100% agree. I think you should have to slide past or beyond the bag to overturn.

I’ve argued in the past here and convinced friends that a sort of what I call a “hover” rule should be in place. Millimeter pop off directly above the bag doesn’t allow for overturn unless you slide past or miss the bag (if foot still clearly over the top of the bag, you’re still safe despite a “pop off” that requires high def slo-mo zoom-in)

100% needed with all the data being given to the public. The umpires are bad

There needs to be like a 30 second timer if you can’t decide which way the calls going it stands.

They shut down the Royals game for 5 minutes last week to see if the 2B had a heel touching the grass.

I think all consequential plays need it. No more though

You must not be old enough to remember football without replay. It was terrible when calls were obviously wrong and there was no mechanism to review and correct it.

It’s so fricking gay when something that would have been a highlight catch for the previous 70 years is overturned because a slight jostling that no one could ever see without slow motion 4k replay.

It sure makes watching an NBA game less appealing

So wait... after years of evolution and innovation, it's illogical that athletes have improved immensely but the officiating hasn't at the highest levels

I've always hated it. Just call it on the field and deal with it. Now they get it wrong anyway and make up stupid shite rules to go along with it.

Tennis does it right. Every other sport still needs improvement.

Like when a runner slides and is safe but pops up a little and is called out because the fielder keeps the glove on him.

The whole process needs to be sped up. Show the replay that you can clearly see what the correct call is and call it and go on to the next play. No need for 5 minutes to pass before you move on from it.

I rarely watch a game live. Simply record it and watch it delayed. Hate replays, I'll change the channel when they go to one.

Of course, the commercials are far worse than the reviews....

Losing my appetite for sports as I fade off into the sunset.
