Effect of Chester out for first half....

Thoughts on not having Chester for first half due to the "targeting" call. How big an impact do you think that 'll have? Thanks!

We will replace one backup who can’t block with another who can’t block

Only impacts our depth, should have no impact on the game

Means that Weston Davis gets one last shot at RT. He's struggled in every game and probably would have gotten benched if not for targeting.

Hopefully they got Curne ready this week.
Some complain about his holding call, but at least he cared enough to hold. Weston Davis acts like he doesn't want to be out there. I've said the same about Chester. Something's in the water with OL coaching, gelling, motivation. BK should be fixing this shite. Isn't he an OL guy?

All I really know is when Chester rotated in at Center he was not good at all...he played last year and I would have thought he'd be better this year?

Chester is a good OL, he's just a very bad center. The problem is they were trying to force him into being the center, and he simply does not have the diagnosing skills for that position.
That does not mean he is not a good guard or tackle. He has the physical tools for either of those.
Hopefully, Davis can hold up in the first half, but the Ole Miss DL is not very good, so hopefully that will help.

This is my opinion as well. I have seen several film studies this season and none have pointed to a DJC blown block. But I do think the OL plays better with Moore as center.

Hope you're right. I agree 100% on him as a center. The pre-snap work of a center seemed to tax him. By the time the ball was snapped he was lost. Which probably means several on the line were also lost.

Hopefully not much effect. It was a terrible call on an O-lineman tackling a runner.

If Braelen Moore is injured in the 1st qtr, it could be disastrous. Who is 3rd team center and can he snap the ball in shotgun? Hope we don't have to find out.

Chester is not a good OL.
We all know he can’t play center but if you think he is a good OLman, go check out his 2 series in the Clemson game at LT when Adam’s went out! He got beaten like a drum! H has struggled at every OL position he has played. Time for him to prepare for the portal and put Curne in at RT.

Some of the Sane Adult Realists on here are finally starting to see the totally dysfunctional OL Coaching and Talent problem that is currently playing out in physical reality.
It's Bad. It's REAL Bad and totally unacceptable at Louisiana State University of the Southeastern Conference.
100% BK9.9's fault too and that's why Semjase and many others have jumped off the BK9.9 train. He's been around too long and has too much experience to let this happen.

Absolutely.

He’s known for his lines being dominant and placing emphasis on the TE, and getting those guys into the league. But he played linebacker and was a DC/defensive coach at the start of his career. He’s just adjusted to being pretty efficient at building offenses as well.
To reiterate that I agree, yes, if he has to get hands on to fix the line issues and not throw this season away. Jump the hell in!
