Cal being 3-1?
Clemson being 1-3
Texas Tech unbeaten?
Houston 3-0
Vandy 4-0
MU 4-0
K-State being 1-3?
Navy, UNT, and Rice leading the AAC?

Late add:

Gundy being fired and 3 total coaches being fired before end of September

Clemson and Florida State to me.

Clemson was poised to make a real run with Klubnik playing well and FSU still being a question mark. Miami was the only real team in their way preseason.

And Florida state looks actually good. After what a disaster last year was, the wheels could have come off the program. If they beat the Canes this weekend, they’re a legit title contender.

Gotta be this. They were the overwhelming preseason favorite to win the ACC and the sportsbooks had them in the top 5 or 6 best odds for the natty.

Clemson obviously on the negative side.

Vandy being 4-0 isn't that surprising, but the way they beat the shite out of South Carolina certainly was.

Cal had the opportunity of a lifetime with the easiest P4 schedule and went full Cal and got destroyed by a horrible SDSU team.

A comeback against Troy to avoid being 0-4. That would have shocked me before the season.

UNT is a surprise because they are one of the schools that gets raided every offseason by other schools throwing NIL money at their players.

North Texas being 4-0. they are in the same category as Toledo, ULM, Fresno State, but haven't had an ounce of success forever is a wild one for me.

UCLA going 0-12 isn't something I anticipated. Not shocked that they're bad, but they are abnormally bad

I'm surprised people are watching. College football blows now with NIL, transfer portal, dumb conferences

For me, Georgia Tech at 4-0 is the biggest surprise

Texas Tech, Houston, and Mizzou aren't surprising at all to me. Not really Vandy either, although the way they dominated Carolina on the road was eye-brow raising.

Clemson is my answer, but I'll add SMU as an honorable mention. They were supposed to be stacked, and in the hunt for the ACC title and CFP again, but they're 2-2 with a total meltdown at home to Baylor and they simply got outplayed by TCU. Even against FBS newcomer SMS, they went down 10-0 before getting a sloppy win.

As in Missouri. Like the other old Big 8 schools (OU, NU, KU, CU).
