Maybe he just didn't want Ole Miss to see our full playbook and has been holding back up to this point...?

I am going with limited playbookdue to the Nuss injury. Expecting to see a different playbook Saturday.

Like Les was going to evolve the offense and kept telling the fan base that for years. No, Sloan is not holding back. Well holding back the offense and playmakers but not the playbook/playcallling.

He went on the road vs what was the #3 team in the country already, and already played an SEC team with a good defense.

Why would you hold back in those games?

The only thing that could be holding LSU back would have been this alleged Nuss injury

Sloan has called passing plays to the boundary and deep. Nuss just does not have the deep and boundary ball touch right now. I hope that’s due more to Nuss’ recently disclosed injury that is apparently healing up and less to do with the OL, RB and TE picking up blocking assignments.

It’s probably a combination of both.

Now over the middle where Nuss can use less of his body and more arm he’s been really solid.

Defenses have been playing cover two a lot so the underneath over the middle has been open and Nuss is just taking what they give.

I wish the LSU running game was more effective against the cover two though. But come to find out CD is injured and he’s not trusting the blocking. We will probably see more JJ and Berry at RB.

Kelly has admitted to giving Sloan a direct order to play conservative and lean on the defense.

I still think the job is too big for Sloan but BK wants someone he can marginalize anyway.

You mean blame if things go bad or take credit if things go well.

I always thought Cover 2's biggest weakness was deep crossing routes.

Wouldn't short, intermediate throws be a strength of cover 2?

You have five guys across the middle of the field, usually with two in the flats.

He means a 2 high shell not actual cover 2.

I'm counting on a perfectly timed JuJuan Johnson HB pass playcall. I fully expect to see it at least once this year.

Agree 100%. He's holding us back, but there's no secret playbook and he's not going to all of a sudden get better. If the play calling looks remarkably different. then that's an indication that BK has gotten involved.

We know he is because BK said he told him to.

No. Its the OL issues and probably a little to do with 18's torso and not practicing as much. (Again, BK said this was why he was on a "pitch count").

I do expect them to open it up more, but more do with Nuss practicing more. I expect more creativity like Clemson. OL still isn't very good.
