You think? Isn’t this basically the same team that beat the hell out of us last Cup?

Home team always has a huge advantage at these things. That being said this does seem like it’s going to be the closest Ryder Cup in a while.
Still think US pulls it out

Don’t most of the European players live here anyway?

The fans are going to be awful. A bunch of idiot New Yorkers trying to see who can get the best instagram clip of being an obnoxious a-hole.

I think most of them do.
The big advantage is course setup. Home team gets to setup the course to their liking. Green speeds, rough height, fairways, tee boxes etc and that’s a pretty big advantage for this type of event

Only half the US team was on the 2023 team. Believe the Euro team is the exact same

No it’s not. Other than the LIV guys, every player on the team is a full time PGA Tour player and has been for years other than Rasmus Hogaard. It’s not near the advantage it was 25 years ago.

Europe Team is the same except a different Hojgaard brother.
USA bringing Spaun, English, Henley, Griffen, and Young,
Euros have more talent. Americans won more in ‘25.

This is incorrect if I remember correctly. The Europeans set up Marco Simone to require a lot of long/mid irons and limited the amount of wedge shots, based on the strokes gained data from data golf they found areas that Europeans had an advantage. Similarly. The US set up other courses to be driver-wedge birdie fests and the US was superior in scoring on those types of courses.
The US set o longer has a major length advantage as I understand it, which they used to have.
Also, Ryder cups are so expensive to attend that I don’t think the goons from the burroughs are going to be a huge contingent, so I’d expect a rowdy crowd because that’s the new norm for Ryder Cups, but not what is feared

Rahm and Rory are 2 of the best 3 or 4 players in the world at this type of golf

They do not, with these particular teams with Henley, Griffin, and English, the European team may be longer on average than the Americans.
The course set up narrative is so overplayed now. In the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s when at least some of the European team were true European players it did matter. Now every single one of the 24 players in this Ryder cup are either pga tour or LIV players, there’s not a single full time European tour player in the event.

Not sure why the laughing emoji. Yeah the European team has had guys on the top end as good as the Americans at bomb and gauge golf, but not as many. 2 players can’t come close to carrying a Ryder cup team. Pretty sure the Americans explicitly said this was their strategy with how they set up the course at Hazeltine.
