298 yds. 4TDs. 143 Rating.
Outperforming the golden child Jayden to start this year.

The cowboys have one of the worst defenses. Congrats?

Wait til we see what Daniels will drop on this porous Cows defense.

I don't think Caleb is any good

I’ll just copy-paste what I put in the NFL gameday thread…
-
He has tools. Even still, he has yet to show an ability to consistently be accurate on intermediate-long throws into tight windows, and he throws inaccurate passes in the short-intermediate game way more often than a starting NFL QB should. Including today.
Dallas allowed Russell Wilson’s corpse to throw for 451 yards last week, and literally all of Caleb’s 4 TDs today were to wide open receivers. Two of them that totaled 100 yards were on a busted flea flicker, and when Diggs slipped while trying to press Odunze at the line, leaving him wide open. Now, Caleb hit those throws nicely (the flea flicker in particular displayed his natural arm talent)… but they were still absolutely wide open. He needs to be more consistent with his layups.
ETA: He has a lot of weapons, a pretty decent (not great, but not bad) pass-protecting OL, and Ben Johnson. If it doesn’t work, he has absolutely no excuses. He remains in a great situation compared to most #1 overall picks in their 1st/2nd seasons (Bears went 7-10 / earned #9 overall in 2023 season -it was Carolina’s pick at #1 overall for the 2024 draft).

Look let’s just be honest about it Caleb is a weird homo and he’s not going to make it in the league I don’t care how nice a long ball he can throw he is not a leader of men. I say this as a bears fan. But more than a bears fan I’m a reality fan and the reality is that the dude ain’t it.

Dallas defense is horrendous

I guess you missed the first 2 games. STFU

I think a Bears QB will finally throw for 4000 yards and 30 TDs.

One of? Easily the worst in the NFL.
A bunch of average and hurt man-to-man DBs forced to play a complex zone is a recipe for disaster.
Add in zero pass rush, and it gets worse. Today was the first game as a pro that Caleb didn’t get sacked once.

I never understood why people think only one QB can be good and yes I know a lot of rantards have bashed Williams from day 1. Personally I hope both of them plus Maye and the other succeed the NFL is better with good QBs

He had a similar game last year and then continued to suck for the bulk of the season.
One good or even great game doesn’t make a great player.

So far Caleb deserves neither the hype nor the hate.
All we know for now is that his floor is about where Fields‘ ceiling was as a passer. When presented with an arse defense today Caleb carved them up, which is good.
Other QB’s of Bears past would still screw that up (See: Rex Grossman ‘05 Bears vs Cardinals MNF)
He’s still holding onto the ball too long, but he is far from some of the more reckless QB’s of Chicago’s past (career 27TD, 7 Int). Hopefully it’s all related and Ben Johnson is telling him that he’ll tolerate a few more interceptions so that Caleb can test NFL windows a bit more and get a better/quicker handle of it.
For the MSB: between the painted nails and being drafter ahead of an LSU guy, Caleb is never going to be a board favorite.
