This guy.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper called ABC’s decision to suspend comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show a “direct” violation of the First Amendment, accusing the broadcaster of stifling speech that is critical of President Trump and his allies.

“If we do not have the ability to criticize, mock, investigate our leaders, we are no longer the United States of America,” Tapper said while appearing on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, which has also been canceled in a move cheered by Trump.

“It’s a very chilled atmosphere,” Tapper said of the mood in Washington, D.C. “We all have to keep our head down, focus on the job and report the news and be fair, honest, and truthful. And that job has not stopped.”

What's Tapper's ratings?

Maybe it's his time?

a private company can fire anyone they want.

No one is stopping Kimmel from saying anything he wants, Kimmel can go on X or YT and say whatever he wants

The problem is the left doesn’t have a true understanding of what the first amendment is or the Bill of Rights for that matter.

The first amendment protects you from being persecuted by the government for what you say.

It does not protect you from a non-governmental, private employer from having an issue with something you said on their network.

The same people were celebrating Tucker Carlson being fired from Fox.

He knows he's on the chopping block. That's the reason for his comments.

If you want to see their head explode tell them free speech covers “hate speech”.

He doesn't know anything about the 1st Amendment. It is intended to protect you from the government arresting you for your speech. He wasn't arrested, and the government had nothing to do with him getting fired from his job. These tools get paid to lie to the public.

Another “constitutional scholar.”

A direct 1st violation would be imprisoning him for what he said.

The left seem to view being fired for expressing one’s views as a more serious injustice than being killed for doing so.

Except that it’s not at all. An employer can choose what they see as appropriate representation of their company and what they don’t.

Kimmel is being held accountable and they can’t stand it lmao

ABC is not the government, and the 1A doesn’t apply to their decisions obviously and it certainly wasn’t any violation, let alone a “direct” one. Trapper is either dumb or disingenuous. Probably both.

Hopefully the FCC will send all of these assholes like Tapper a notification of spreading false information as well.

He's like Whoopi and has to keep working after he probably had to pay the publisher back some of his advance for his 'unflinching and explosive reckoning' work of fiction, Original Sin - 'Joe Biden Sharts the White House'

Oh look. Another member of the media doing the same thing that got Jimmy Kimmel fired: spouting blatant lies meant to sow division.

These people might be retarded.

Think about it - he was effectively terminated by fricking CNN for being a dishonest and politicized far left fricking whackjob.

F*CKING CNN!
