I didn’t see an update so I’ll post one. Apparently the man had a spinal cord injury and did not heed the warnings to not ride if you have you have a head or neck injury. He became unconscious and slammed his head against the medal in front of him several times.
There was speculation that they may have to add shoulder restraints, add brakes to slow it down, or tear it down completely. Well, they reopened yesterday. Universal added language to their safety protocols that “if you need any assistance getting from your wheel chair to the ride, then you can’t ride.” The rumor is that the ride staff assisted him on to the ride and they were not supposed to do that. All in all, I am very surprised that they reopened this quickly and I am glad that one person didn’t ruin it for the rest of us. May he rest in peace though.

If they had a “0 days since someone died on this ride” it would make me want to ride it more.

I heard blunt force trauma. May have passed out.

Isn't that kind of the whole thrill of rollercoasters?
Sounds like he died after the ride, most likely a heart attack

Florida exempts largest theme parks from state safety inspections, and someone just died on a brand-new roller coaster
Florida’s largest theme parks are exempt from state safety inspections, unlike smaller venues and fairs. Instead, the largest theme parks like Walt Disney World and Universal conduct their own inspections and have their own protocols, but they must report to the state any injury or death.

Since Epic Universe opened in May, there have been three reports made. In May, a 63-year-old man with a preexisting condition experienced dizziness and “an altered state of consciousness” and a 47-year-old woman with a preexisting condition had a “visual disturbance” and numbness after going on the Stardust Racers roller coaster, on separate days. A 32-year-old man experienced chest pains after going on the Hiccup’s Wing Gliders ride, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services.
In other words, they're making the rides too awesome for fat, out of shape pussies

We are devastated by this event
Before the interwebs it was always urban legend that spread here in Atl about a kid dying from Cardiac arrest on Z-Force at Six Flags and then, again, when it became The Ninja. Turns out they were always true, as was the case with the dumbass that got decapitated years later when he hopped a fence to retrieve a hat underneath the Batman.
This shite happens.

Just noticed.. some big ole baws on that ride in that NY Post photo.
And one probably annoying woman in the very front dressed like the ride itself

Is it the rides getting better or mercans getting fatter and unhealthier.
I look forward to the day they ban people with the sugars from getting on the rides I want to ride.

It's a pretty intense ride. Slightly more intense for me than the Velocicoaster, but not too bad. I am not a huge coaster enthusiast and decided I was one and done.

As far as all of the ways to go, this one's pretty beta.
