What are the best Octoberfest or Festbiers you've tried so far? I've only had Gnarly Barley's Festbier and Octoberfest beers from Parish and Great Raft. By far I like Gnarly Barley the best. Great Raft is very good. I was disappointed in Parish. Not much marzen taste and a bit flat.

I think you nailed it. GB's is the best around. I tend to lean to imports if I am scratching that itch. For brewery stuff, Cypress Coast in BR excels in these styles but isn't distributed.

Ecology in New Orleans has a good one that they are selling in 16oz 4 packs at their brewery.
Parleaux will typically have a good one as well, but haven't gotten out there to try this year's offering.

I’m glad you posted this because I was wondering about those three. I hope you have good taste.

Urban South’s is ok
That’s the only one I’ve tried so far this year.

I have seen the Hofbrauhaus brand beer in some local stores. Try Whole Foods.

Paulaner Oktoberfest for German marzen
Weihenstephaner Festbier (personal favorite of the season) for fest beer
As stated, Gnarly Barley and Great Raft have the best for in state craft brew.

They are releasing theirs this weekend. A festbier and a Marzen. Should be great, they kill it with lagers

I haven't tried it this year, but Seventh Tap usually has a really good one. Gilla's is good too, this Years's is the best version of the Marzen they have done.

I like St. Arnold out of Houston

How is Rally Cap's pumpkin beer?

I love Seventh Tap beer, I wish they did a few in 12 oz cans. I just can’t dome a 16 like I used to.

I'll be trying Crying Eagle's fest bier tonight

I have had Bell's, Sierra Nevada, Paulaner, and Gnarley Barley
All are good but I have to give the nod to Bell's.

Sam Adams is a good Oktoberfest beer. Always has been.
I think the st Arnold one is good too.
These are beers that will have tents in Germany, and you can easily find them in BR:
Paulaner
Hacker Pschorr
Weihenstephaner
And my favorite is Ayinger.

Man... I wish I liked Fest biers. I almost always look for local seasonal offerings for beer when I go pick up stuff. I was just thinking when there the other day that this is my least favorite time of year. All Octoberfest and Pumpkin seasonals. I'm not a fan of either.
