Honestly if Nuss needs some time to recover, Van Buren could step in and start against SLU.

Buss could just rest and be ready for Ole Miss. That's the key game.

Also Van Buren has SEC starts and experience.

Nuss does not need the extra playing time as he is. A 5th year senior.

Yes but Nuss needs to find a rhythm

If Van Buren or Hurley ball out, even against a shitey SLU team, this board is going to get real interesting.

Just me, but I don't think any "rhythm" Nuss could find against SELA would be helpful when playing better teams - at least not enough to risk prolonging an injury that's obviously hampering him.

I'm sure he, CBK and the training staff will make the right decision, regardless, and I'm okay with whatever they come up with. That said, I do think getting our backup QB a lot of time in this game could pay dividends down the road if we ever needed him later.

You can't find a rhythm if you're playing hurt.

Would make sense to hand Van Buren the reins vs SELA. He’s a proven SEC starter.

Yea and after Van Buren inevitably lights up SE, and Nuss has one 3 and out series there will be an uproar from fans and media about benching Nuss.

And if its a prolonged injury since summer camp, what exactly is going to happen in 1 week sitting out to cure it? You don't think the training staff would have done that by now.

Hurley can spin it. I’ve been saying give him a shot.

They dont want Nuss vs Jayden 2.0

If MVB goes out there and starts nailing 50 yard bombs and puts up 35 in a half, most of the fans are going to want Nuss on the bench ESPECIALLY if he comes out flat agaisnt Ole Miss.

Things would get interesting if Van Buren comes in and lights it up. Nuss needs to sit if his injury is affecting his play this much but he won’t for this reason.

Nuss could probably sit out of practice for the majority of this week and then play a half of football on Saturday. Would like for him to play just for statistical purposes - I haven't quite given up hope on my Heisman ticket I placed this Summer.

Need to sit Nuss to make Ole Miss think he might be better.

Also, if he gets worse you’ll want some snaps for the backup in a less crucial game.
