Preseason games are starting 9/20.
Some games this weekend:

St. Louis at Dallas, 7 p.m.

NY Rangers at New Jersey, 1 p.m.

1 point out of the playoffs last year despite a lot of BS and some really bad defense. I am cautiously optimistic. Been drafting very well and have some sneaky good young talent on the farm.
Locked up our young goalie with a 7x7.5 which is very exciting. He was a stud last year and can only get better. He was more or less single-handedly keeping us in the hunt at one point.
Maybe Huberdeau will be a good player this year and we can finally get our moneys worth? He was on pace for 80 points at one point last season and was overall much much better.

I'm not quite ready to make my playoff predictions yet but here are some not even very warm takes
Jets will take a step back, should still make the playoffs
Capitals same
Canadiens will struggle to make the playoffs, likely miss out
Atlantic division champ will be a toss up similar to last year
Pacific will only get 3 teams in, Central gets 5
Metro is by far the weakest division

I feel like a lot of teams will battle to get better seeds in the playoffs, but the Panthers don't care as much (like last year). They can win on the road and at home if their defense is locked in (like last year).
