Today was kind of a perfect game

I honestly dont understand why people are upset we lost. This season should be about improving our young talent and positioning for the future.
Rattler looked like a pretty good starting QB today and if anything our WRs let him down some. Our OL was solid for the most part.
Broughton had 3 tackles, Sanker looked good... Stutsman and Riley got playing time as well.

Rattler is not the future. Dude was a joke at South Carolina, which we all know, and now we’re supposed to accept him as the leader of the Saints?

his team beat the frick out of Tennessee which Alabama failed miserably at that year.

people either want to win or they accept losing.
I get it.
This is a rebuilding year but that was a game on paper that the Saints cold have won. They got outcoached by a good coach it happens.

A good qb doesn't get sacked vs boss.
A good qb doesn't throw behind receivers and notice he is unable to throw over the middle consistently? He has to wait for the receiver to get open and is unable to throw with anticipation consistently.
That being said - fuaga and his knee are real problems. Im wondering if he s not better suited for rg so we can optimize him and move on from ruiz
We need another starting cb. Yiadom ain't it.
We need an upgrade at linebacker and if we're gonna run a 3-4
We need a true #1 wr. Olave ain't that dude.

He's improved from last week. Forget last year dummy. You ready to give up on him after 2 fricking games? Brees isn't walking through the door moron.

you said he was a joke at South Carolina.
You know that isn't true.
guy had back-to-back wins against Top 10 teams in that same year I'm talking about.
he threw 3 TD passes today.
This roster is lacking in talent.
He did his "share" today in my opinion considering how so many clueless mother frickers want to dump on him.

I think Rattler is improving, that’s encouraging.
I agree we need another CB, we need to replace Jordan and Demario,
I don’t think we should pay Olave and should invest there early in draft next year.
I’m excited for the future.. OL could be really strong for future, Possibility of Rattler or Shough being the guy, or we draft someone high next year… and we continue to shed contracts and get younger.

You mean Bosa? I guess Maholmes sucks too

He's learning a new offense and improving from game to game. That's all you can ask of a basically rookie QB.

Autocorrect on my swyping keyboard.
I was referring to the play that led to a sack.

Except he's not a rookie. People made excuses last year
- His entire OL is decimated (minus Ruiz but you may as well be)
- His receivers aren't even playing (Olave and Shaheed out)
This year the OL is pretty much intact and his WRs are all available (including a veteran WR who's damn smart in Cooks).
So now a new offense is responsible for his inability to throw passes that lead his receivers as opposed to behind them? If you can't use the middle of the field because your QB can't make those passes, then you are screwing yourself over and he's not it (similar to guys like Anthony Richardson who cannot go through progressions and avoided huge segments of the field).
I will give him credit, he's improved some, but his inability to go through progressions is still sad for a 2nd year player who's had played in 9 games and is now 0-9 overall.

no.
you don't get it.
you really don't.
He is learning a new system with a new staff and on paper he isn't a rookie.
I'm taking reps wise.
We are stuck at the bottom due to that pattern now thanks to that fricking jack arse Mickey Loomis who is not held accountable by anyone.
Rattler threw a few passes to WR's that hit them right in the hands only to have them dropped. But I guess since that was his main read then he isn't doing what he's coached to do.
if he was blatantly disobeying the coach then why did also throw 3 TD's today?
Derek Carr's people pleasing arse sure would not have gone 3-for3 in the redzone.

So Dennis fricking Allen was developing him last year? You going to consider his play last year as a rookie in the worst case scenario as a valid argument?

He's still developing and he has thrown passes that were in front of his receivers. He's inconsistent though.

He is going through progressions but he's not consistent.

Promising performances from young players and coaching in close losses to secure a top 5 pick is realistically the best outcome for the Saints. I didn’t mind the close loss

I don't follow the Saints as much as most of y'all do, but I check in here to get the "scoop;"
I watched the game yesterday and honestly not sure what you all expect out of Rattler. He looked poised and did a good job running the offense. Was he perfect? No, but definitely serviceable.

Rattler is not the problem.

Caleb Williams looked like dogshit yesterday. A No. 1 overall pick. We have a 5th rd pick playing better every week. Who is the blame for that? And yet idiots here want to bench him. I'm glad Benson doesn't have those retards running the team.

First two games were perfect really. Competitive but losses, good for the tank. But Improvement from W1 to W2.

I did not watch the All-22 from last week or yesterday to see how many open receivers he actually missed, versus what some people on here are just parroting in game. Even if there were open receivers were they his first read or not? That said, yes he absolutely has room for improvement. Some balls yesterday could have been thrown better but he also had (4) drops including the ball that hit Olave in the arm right after he dropped the TD. Rattler was 25/34 with 3-TDs, and should have been 29/34 with 4-TDs without drops.
If the All-22 legitimately shows that Rattler is not seeing the whole field and missing plays, when he has enough time, then I think Moore should make the switch to Shough this week. Just watching the games live on TV, I think Rattler is playing good enough to keep playing, and definitely has not "lost" the games for us.

Ruiz needs to be upgraded, but you're a fool if you think Fuaga is not a tackle after what he did last year as a rookie at LT. The reason for his subpar play right now is absolutely the knee, you can see him limping.

I agree. I'm ready to see what Quincy Riley can do.

I'd like to see Stallbird spell Werner on obvious passing downs. Stutsman can hopefully starting seeing snaps on run downs, but he's probably not the answer in coverage right now

100% agree, as evidenced by his DROP on the would be TD, even the throw was not in the chest it still was accurate enough to hit him in the hands! I said it last year that I would NOT have picked up his 5th year option, and I hated it when we did and it looks even worse now. I love his current value at $6.1M, but now next year it jumps up to $15.5M all guaranteed. Olave seems like a good guy & teammate, but by all accounts this was an absolute miss by Mickey/Ireland to give up the draft capitol to trade up for him and to now be on the books to pay him $15.5M next season is terrible.
