I know the bias exists, but this is ridiculous. LSU loses to Clemson and Florida, we dont sniff the top 25. (Even with a win)

There's a reason I loathe that fricking team.

Ranked preseason Top 10 every year while Faust was coach, regardless of how shitty they were the previous season.

Hasn't won shite since the 80s.

They play no one of any significance for the rest of the season outside of maybe USC. They’ll sneak into the playoffs completely unjustifiably.

They’re are many teams that deserve to be in that spot over them. It’s BS and an excuse to slowly drive them back up the rankings as they clean out their easy schedule

Based on AP Poll history, a team has been ranked in the Top 25 with an 0-2 record 6 times: Purdue (1948), Missouri (1949), SMU (1958), Auburn (1984), Michigan (1988), and Notre Dame (2025).

Notre Dame should be nowhere near the top 25 at 0-2

Would love to hear your logic. They lost to the #4 and #10 teams by a combined 4 points. I would argue they should be ranked higher.

Devils advocate:

Preseason #12 Ole Miss was ranked #21 in 2016 at 1-2...with losses to two Top 15 teams and their only win against Wofford.

Newsflash: Preseason rankings and close losses to early ranked foes skews lazy minds. Same thing here. Notre Dame has no wins but would a win over Wofford be any different than no wins?

People don't like to be wrong. This isn't a Notre Dame thing, its a people voting thing like that chick voter who is in love with Florida and South Carolina.

Media keeping them in the top 25 hoping they rattle off 10 in a row with a relatively easy schedule and justify a playoff spot

I like how it notates ND as an “extreme pick” because it’s 5+ spots away from their actual ranking.

What a man utter dumbass

oh I don’t know, maybe being 0-2. Occam’s razor. Do you see any other team with a 0-2? No. And a joke of a schedule.

Notre Dame is generally overrate but a tough draw with games that could have gone either way ain’t bad. Notre Dame needs to schedule stronger independents and keep their schedule strong. No reason why they should not be playing more big ten teams (IU and Michigan) to circumvent a weak schedule to earn it. Sadly they sliding back in after 10 wins unless Texas A&M is 10-2 or 9-3 and keeps them out!

I mean they are two plays away from being 2-0 and arguably deserving of #1. IMO they shouldn’t be top 25 but it’s not the craziest thing ever.

So no one in the modern era of football. Sounds about right ND is the beneficiary.

Are you surprised when the "modern era of football" is a bunch of people sitting around saying "do we really want a playoff without ND/ALA/MICH in it?!"
