The Trump administration has a plan to send 1,000 Louisiana National Guard troops into the state's "urban centers" if Gov. Jeff Landry requests it, The Washington Post reported, citing Pentagon planning documents.
An undated draft memo from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem proposes keeping the troops under Landry’s control while funding the mobilization with federal dollars, the Post reported.
According to the memo, the plan provides a “unique advantage,” allowing Guard members to supplement law enforcement in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and other cities as long as the governor asks for them.

Given the shortage of officers in both depts, do it.

A week or 2 again the Mayor-President of BR/EBR said Trump was considering deploying Troops to Louisiana, and the mayor said he would welcome the help if Baton Rouge was chosen for this help.

Why does the Pentagon need to deploy the Louisiana National Guard to Louisiana when that elf over there in Baton Rouge could request to do it. Maybe he can direct them to pressure wash his office building while he’s at it.

Hell yeah. make it 15,000 and I might think about going to a Saints game ever again.

the number is just gonna keep increasing until they see what the public is willing to accept.
we need military deployed in every city.
The Posse Comitatus Act
The Posse Comitatus Act generally prohibits the use of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Space Force for domestic law enforcement. This restriction does not apply to:
National Guard troops when they are under state—not federal—control. A governor can activate the National Guard for state-level law enforcement, and federal law does not apply to their conduct in this capacity.
The U.S. Coast Guard, as it has explicit authority to enforce federal law.

Not sure if this is actual news.
Truth is there is probably several different strategical plans drawn up for something similar for most states.
It would be more of a surprise if they didn’t

if they're being deployed to assist LE you don't want T-boy, Boudreaux, Billy Ray and Cletus policing their own folks

from what i've seen recently most of the Louisiana national guard is purple haired trannies so they'll fit in New Orleans pretty well.

No they won’t.
We did this after Katrina and the young soldiers in NO just got drunk and high everyday.
This will be good for local business, legal and not legal.

If you are not willing to support the indefinite Federalization of the police force via armed troops, and the people aren't willing to change their voting habits to effect change in policing and control of crime, this is little more than an expensive bandaid with the added baggage of a concerning precedent.
If you are for the longterm Federalization of state and local police, well............you should do a lot of personal reflection and thinking.
