2 Timothy 3:1-9

Godlessness in the Last Days

[1] But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. [2] For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, [3] heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, [4] treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. [6] For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, [7] always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. [8] Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. [9] But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

Yep, even the authors of Scripture said we are living in these days right now (Heb. 1:-2; Acts 2:16-17; 1 Cor. 10:11; 1 Jan 2:18).

We should continue to seek the Lord’s working of conversion of souls in this world and ask for a revival and reformation, and plead for mercy for the sake of Christ’s beloved bride.

That's like saying wars and rumors of wars. When was it ever not the case?

I’m reminded of John 15 16-24

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

The World Hates the Disciples

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

Also Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God

This thing with Kirk and the Ukrainian girl on the bus has just really shown how broken society is. Plus all of the school shootings, corruption in politics, radical islamists, etc. etc. etc.

Jesus needs to come quickly because things are not going to get any better. Society is in a decline.

The Bible is a historical collection of patterns of humanity.

The patterns do repeat.

I’ll ask this: when has this ever NOT been the case

The current generation is always looked at as immoral compared to the past.

I read last days not as these means Christ’s return is imminent, but that these things must be occurring for there to be the last days. It’s a threshold, not a calendar date.

Man walks into house covered in filth and bugs. Teeming.

“When has a house ever not had any bugs in it? Huh?”
