After seeing my kids reaction to Kirk's death, I took some time last night to watch

His debates.
I've admitted here before I don't agree with the vast majority of Kirk's platform. I don't believe in god/religion, I'm pro choice, pro gay marriage, pro drug legalization, pro prostitution, the list goes on and on.
My kids, however, are both Christians (by their choice) and both serve different youth groups. They were devastated by this. My daughter has seen my social media before and has seen my leftists acquaintances post things like "white christain nationalists are nazis" and it brought about uncomfortable conversations about what dad once supported and why he would still associate with people who think that way.
After reading a long diatribe from an unhinged leftist last night that pretty much stated he was "against violence but he understood why Kirk had it coming", I ended up taking over two hours doing research on all the quotes from this guys facebook diatribe.
I have to admit, I ended up in tears. I see why my kids were in tears. I still don't agree with the majority of his stances but Kirk was a nice guy. He tried to reason with completely unhinged, hateful people. He was always respectful of everyone. They would call him every name in the book, and he replied with kindness. There were mentally ill freaks that would literally screech at him and he still tried to find something good in them (there wasn't).
What really pissed me off the most was the fact that the media would take one or two words from a "conversation" that was sometimes 2 minutes or longer, and turn it into something it wasn't.
A few things I looked up that were blatant lies:
1) He never said gays should be killed
2) He never said gays should be stoned
3) He never called a black female stupid to her face....he did say the idiot on the SC Court that doesn't know what a woman is was a DEI Hire, which is absolutely correct.
4) The conversation about "one gun death" was completely taken out of context.
5) He never said women shouldn't have careers.
I could go on and on, but those are the ones that stick out because these are the ones the vile progressives chant while they cheer on his murder.
I'll be honest, all this did was make me despise the left even more. I hate to use the word "hate", but now I understand why my kids see this as a personal attack on them. I am ashamed I voted alongside people that would cheer on the death of my kids simply because they are christian....which, by the way, progressives cheered last week mocking "thoughts and prayers" when the catholic school was shot up by the tranny, and the month before that when the flood "washed away those Christian cunts" in Texas.
Our media? Well, we already know what they are. They are pure, evil, scum. I don't watch any news, Fox included, but left wing outlets are encouraging this with their blatant lies.
I've already typed too much, but I am beyond pissed off today. Frick these people and frick anyone that supports them. From this day forward I'll be voting Red in every election. frick Jeff Landry, but I'll vote for him if that's the damn choice in four years. It can't be worse than some vile leftist that will lie, then cheer on the violence they stoked.

I'm glad you made this post. You have an open mind and that is all that Charlie Kirk was looking for; the exchange of ideas in a civil manner. What you posted is what one would hope the left would take away from him. You don't have to agree with everything he said, but he was always open to opposing views.

Would you care to explain? Name some specifics. I’m always curious to see how anyone could disagree with his common sense.

Congrats on leaving the party of hate. I left it myself in 2019 when the mask really came off, despite my tendency to lean toward classic liberal viewpoints. One party is sane, the other party is not.

The last week has been very bad for the left.
They will throw their hands up at midterms and in 28 and blame the voters for being too stupid instead of realizing that holding their peers in the party accountable for their comments was the only winning (or moral) play across these several events

If not religious it’s easy to end up a bit more accepting of some of the items he’s more hardline about opposing
That said, he was often gracious in realizing a large tent is needed to have any of your issues succeed

This is my favorite post of the day. Good job OP.

I appreciate you sharing that. I appreciate you taking the time to just do a little research. Isnt it amazing at how with a little time the truth can be found. The lies revealed. The reality that IS the Democrat Party as they have now become. I grew up Democrat. Raised in a Democrat home. Reagan won me over. The Bushs tested my patience. The Democrat Party today shouldnt honestly be called Democrat. They are something very different today, dishonest and disingenuous. The majority are just ignorant. However they have allowed themselves to be turned pure evil.

This is all great but I don’t believe you. Anyone who is old enough to have teenage kids and still dumb enough to be a leftist is not going to be swayed by watching a couple of hrs of Charlie Kirk and all of a sudden vote red forever.
Unless you’ve always been where most of us are - socially a bit liberal but not “progressive” but otherwise conservative and not crazy Bible Belt evangelicals trying to force religion on the masses. And if that’s the case you should have been voting red before this.

You’re a good man. God bless you. Perhaps a good thing to do would be to ask your kids if you could go to church with them. That would be an incredible thing my friend.

I was once i this boat... all I can say is that classic Central Democrat viewpoints such as non violence and pro free speach are now considered far right extremist views
Its one hell of a shift

But I cannot commend you enough for recognizing that at this current time, this is what’s needed to save our country.
We can reach enough people to save our country.

I think it’s wonderful that your children have been able to serve as positive witnesses to you.
I urge you to explore further into the claims of Christianity. It’s easy, I think, for atheists to see Christians as people who have turned their brains off to believe in a fairy tale.
Please don’t make that very mistake in turning your brain off to reject the claims of Jesus Christ. Engage, ask questions, and try to understand.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Thank you for posting this.
I understand that people have reasons for feeling the way they do and that we will all never agree on everything, that actually wouldn’t be a good thing.
All I want is for everyone to listen. Actually listen and consider the other point of view, withholding bias and preconceived notion.

Absolutely. The people cheering for his assassination are cheering for the assassination of someone who doesn’t exist. Same with the attempted Trump assassination- it could be argued the media has blood on their hands.
His entire platform/theme/ethos was “when people stop talking, violence happens, so let’s have hard conversations and just talk things out”
