anytime the saints were decent or had a shot this team would ruin it. one of the most satisfying saints games ever was in 2000 when we finally got a big win over them. garcia's bitch arse threw 2 picks in that game i want to say too.
all this to say, you can hate tampa, and carolina all you want but the old school rams and 49ers hate will never be topped, frick that team

2011 still hurts to this day and will always hurt, real Saints fans know there was nothing stopping us from holding the Lombardi had we gotten out of SF with a win
2019 was also a heartbreaker, we would have had the #1 seed in the NFC had we won that game

Never forget us winning 11-7 there in the 90s.

Good ole homerism. The 2011 Giants were in an absolute role obviously, and the 2011 Patriots were a great team as well.

Vernon Davis was a Saints killer during those years. I considered abducting him when the Saints played SF (or at least wanted to)!

Lol the Saints were a complete mismatch for the Giants. They would have stood no chance in the dome where they got slapped 49-24 earlier.
Patriots wouldn’t have been able to keep up offensively

the day they realigned the divisions and took us out of the NFC West with SanFran was a breath of fresh air.
so many of my sundays were ruined by Montana and Young.

Those late 80's/early 90's Saints teams were really good...they just had the misforture of being in the same division with the even better 49er teams
The Saints had the second best record in the NFC (12-3) in 1987...and were a WC team because San Francisco was 13-2. 12-4 in 1992...still second place.

Giants weren’t winning in the dome in the playoffs. They barely made the playoffs that year.

Plenty of memories, of dad rushing the family home from 11:00 church for the 12:00 Saints game, for us to lose to San Fran.
Then b*t*h at us the rest of the day because they lost.

They caught fire and beat everyone in the playoffs, including going to San Francisco and beating the 49ers team that the Saints couldn’t beat.
What makes you think they couldn’t possibly beat the Saints?

They really did. The 9ers absolutely mauled Eli in that game. It was a really gritty performance. Hilarious that they came after us for bounties after that bloodbath on national tv.

The Giants caught fire and were a different team in the playoffs. They beat teams the Saints couldn’t, such as the 49ers. What makes you think the Saints couldn’t possibly lose to them? The Saints were bad on defense that year.
Also, the Patriots were similar to the Saints on offense but better on defense than the Saints in 2011.

Yep. Those Saints teams had to contend with Joe Montana's 49'ers. 49'ers were one of the best teams of all time.

I was so happy when they re-aligned and got us out of that division. I remember the strike year we went 12-3 and were a wild card. SF went 13-2 I believe.

To this day I can't stand either of them.

2011 Saints could have won it all, but the Giants and Patriots were both good opponents who would have given them trouble.
The 2018 Saints would have beaten the 2018 Patriots. That year was the real gut punch.

Homerism maybe but that offense in 2011 was the Saints best ever and one of in nfl history.

During those NFC West years, the Saints had as much success against the Niners as anyone.
