I’m pretty sure they entered a rifle in the UK’s trials several years ago and this is probably just a copy of that.

Doesn't make sense to me for a company so well known for their pistols to jump into a extremely saturated ar15 market.

Its probably the most dependable rifle on the market.

ETA: Downvoters are P320 owners.

"There doesn't seem to be anything crazy about them or super proprietary..."

I was thinking about this today.

Glock has taken so long to do things that the public has been begging for.

The Glock name sells and when they bring out something new, it sells.

What if this is the tip of the ice berg.

Shotguns, bull pups glocks gone wild.

I thought this about the new Glock COAs. "Who cares, it's just an optics mounting system" was my thought lol. Then I saw it get run over by a truck & not only survive but hold zero. I'm not saying this AR will be the same but I'm willing to withhold judgement this time

The price seems excessive for a seemingly basic AR.

Especially in a very saturated market.

A basic reliable "mil spec" 6920 equivalent AR should cost about $600 street price.

I know glock fanbois are many, but I just don't see this moving too well at that price point. It's got to be cheaper than a 6920 to sell, IMO.

How many options exist with Geissele trigger and ambidextrous features that are considered "basic" and sell for cheap? Just watched a bit of the video and that stood out to me. Not saying it's worth the price or that this gun is even good. You can easily build a high quality rifle with those features for less. But I don't recall a lot of options that come with those features selling near the same price as basic entry level rifles.

You can buy a ready to go service rifle for half the price, or something fancier like a BCM for 3/4 the price.

I just don't see the market for it, but Daniel Defense seems to be lauded and is in the same range so idk, maybe there is a market for it. It just doesn't seem to fit the Glock brand of cheap (not so much anymore) and reliable.

It's Basically a direct competitor to the Geissele Super Duty, LMT, DD, etc. Which are all very high end, duty grade platforms.

I'm sure it will be made in Austria and have chrome lined, hammer forged barrel and be very well built with ambi controls, proprietary handguard, G trigger, and more.

Well, that's kind of what's kept them successful while so many others have gone out of business, filed for multiple bankruptcies, and maintained a reputation for reliability. There's something to be said for ignoring the capricious whims of the "public" (mostly an outspoken minority on gun forums). If Glock wants to dip it's toe into the AR market, possibly to capture some military/LEO contracts, then fine. Wanting all that other crap is just dumb and suicidal to their business.
