Kelly mentioned "bad coaching" about 10 times in his presser. Obviously as you narrow it done, it comes back to Sloan and Davis to some degree. Kelly totally seems like a guy who would fire someone mid-season if things got bad enough. At the very least, I expect him to take over more of the play-calling like it was believed he did towards the end of last season. We have the weapons to get this turned around. I hope we do but I don't have much confidence in the coaching on that side of the ball.

We had Matt house for all of 2023 when it was clear 1 game in that it was the worst defense we’ve ever seen.

Firing a coordinator mid season doesn’t do much anyway. We’ve got Sloan till the end of the season.

Well Kelly is an offensive coach really the situation is completely different.

Regardless of how this season ends, I think it’s time to move on from Sloan.

Playcalling can't get any worse tbh Kelly would probably be an upgrade

Who hired Sloan and Davis?

Has he done this in the past? I don’t seem to remember anyone getting fired mid season when we had a defense that was preventing us from competing for a national championship. In fact, I remember BK publicly talking about how he thought the defense was improving.

Right. At this point, I'd try the "other" OC for a while. He can't be any worse!

Kelly is an offensive guy, he’s not gonna sit around for long and let the offense sputter. He’s either gonna take the controls or part with Sloan after the season, or both depending on how it plays out.

That said, all of this conversation is probably premature… we’ll know more after Florida and OleMiss.

Sometimes the HC obviously scapegoats coaches to keep their own butt outta the ringer. In this case he can get a 2 for 1 with Sloan.

Sloan had the same play-calling weaknesses last season. Everyone hoped he would come along in his second year. Clemson looked good, Tech not so much.

He's a good QB coach and recruiter, but leaves a lot to be desired in the way of a play-caller, especially in 3rd down and red zone.

Unfortunately, he's what we have, unless someone else - BK or another assistant - steps in for some of it.

Should have sent Sloan back to Ruston on the LA Tech bus. Give the co-OC a shot.

You really think Sloan made all the decisions last night?

They were up 2 scores against La Tech. BK needs to see what he has before the SEC begins.

Sloan isn’t going anywhere midseason.

But Kelly was absolutely calling him out in that presser.

We have the personnel, no more excuses.

I promise you, even if he doesn't get fired, he's gonna get neutered! Kelly will strip him of all his play-calling duties. I wouldn't be surprised to see it next week.

The O Line is the issue.

Look at BKs comments through that lens.

It's all under Sloan's purview as O.C. He was talking about Sloan and maybe Davis to a lesser degree

Davis needs to go. No development at OL and how do we not have a developed center in year 4 of BK with Davis as OL coach is inexcusable.
Sloan was an unproven mid level failed OC. How is LSU’s OC position looked at as an on the job training experiment by Kelly. Much like some of his past failed hires, this will be his downfall.

Agreed. If anything Kelly might get more involved in play calling

Sloan is only OC because he was recruiting Underwood

He should have been replaced the second underwood flipped.

The fact that he wasn’t will cost this team dearly

Sloan = House. We’re going to have a stellar defense with a historically bad offense
