How close was that to being roughing the passer I keep looking at replays and if the refs really wanted to be petty they could have called that

I did not think it was close to roughing. But, one never knows what will be called.

He was on him before the ball came out.

Wasn’t close, he makes contact while he is throwing the ball and then eases up on him, puts hands up making no attempt to throw him to ground and avoided having to step or land on him. It was actually amazing play that he got the pressure and high football IQ to avoid any chance of getting flagged for excessive contact.

Clean off those glasses baw!

It was clean. I held my breath a bit at first but replays confirmed it was clean.

Not even a little bit for even for the tickiest tackiest ref out there. Perkins was on him too early to be roughing the passer for one, and he literally did not rough the passer. He basically pushed him back enough to completely disrupt his throw but in a way that wouldn't have roughed up a middle school quarterback. It was about as perfect of a play on a game winning play as you could get. He didn't need to drill him into the ground, the game was overthe moment he knocked him back.

I had just re-watched it and thought, that could have been a call if the refs were really home cooking. It would have been a bad call but bad calls are made all the time. It certainly would have sucked.

LSU Tigers were not ever worried at all during this game. Even the play calling was conservative especially with our defense wreaking havoc whenever the Coaches allowed them.

You could see it in the eyes of the Clemson Head Coach. He knew his team was gonna lose on their home field and hoped the refs and BK just would not embarrass he and his boys.

He is trying to hold on to a job now.

When I saw the play live, I was concerned that the refs might flag Perkins on that play. It looked like Perkins had grazed Klubnik’s face mask on the play. It was nothing serious, but with the way the officiating had gone completely in Clemson’s favor, and considering it was their last chance to tie the game, I was nervous the refs would call a blow to the head. Klubnik lobbied for it a little, I think.
