Bold to act this way before he’s a free agent.

I wouldn't call it bold. He's just a complete headcase. He won't be in Houston next year.

How does that happen? Pitchers throw pitches that are off target all the time amd catchers react and catch them.

What was different this time that the catcher was caught off guard so badly?

Catcher in the post game said it was loud after the grand slam so maybe he hit the wrong button

Body language yes, but the catcher clearly saw the pitch coming and had his glove down.

Someone explain to me how this is the pitcher's fault. Batter is in the box, catcher is in his stance, umpire is ready to call the play and the pitcher does what he's supposed to do-------throw the ball to the plate.

Catcher doesn't even try to catch the ball even though his mitt is in position to do so. Looks more like a brain fart by the catcher to me.

This was my initial reaction. Catchers are great at catching off pitches. Why was this one so tricky?

Catcher called a curveball, pitcher was mad after giving up a grandslam (right after the catcher had asked him to step off the mound before the pitch) and threw a 97 mph fastball instead.

When you're expecting a 78mph curveball and get a 95mph fastball, it makes it extremely difficult to catch, even for the best catchers. Obviously the catcher was not expecting a fastball.

Yeah, it's not the location, it's the speed and curve of the pitch. You expect an 80 mph curve to drop to the ground. Instead a 95 mph fastball goes straight into your chest.

Expecting a 78 mph breaking ball that starts in the zone, then drops to the dirt…only to have 95 mph fastball that doesn’t break, is how.

I caught through college and much of catching is anticipating the pitch you caught over and over. The worst cross ups were exactly that. We have a split second to see the ball, so when we call a pitch, we typically knew where it would go.

Had a 6’8 260 pitcher who threw mid 90’s and couldn’t hit a spot. That was hard enough to catch.

That was 100% intentional. Hope that catcher lit his arse up in the locker room.

Oh heavens! How will we ever deal with this?
Two men had a disagreement and one was kind of mean to the other! Someone get a large palm leaf and fan me, lest I faint.

That's a quick way to get your arse beat.

What a prick.
