New PAC 12...How do we think the new PAC12 is going to look for football?

Interesting that they’re all “State” schools.

Washington State
Boise State
Utah State

Boise State will be there every year but there is a ceiling
SanDiego State and Utah State will have peak years every 6 years
But Oregon State and Washington State will be the power schools, always with a chance
Texas State might have one every 10 years in them

Will be a strong baseball conference. Even Gonzaga isn’t that bad. Football, they’ll have a shot at one of those teams getting in the playoffs in most years.

It will be interesting to see how Wazzu and Oregon State perform with ESPN calling them "Group of 5" and "Mid Major" every 10 seconds.
1/2 of the teams in P5 leagues are not "power" under any stretch; and they would struggle under ESPN's incessant condescension.

Probably good enough to steal Memphis, Tulane, and USF away from the AAC once their buyouts get small enough.

Again…Does it mean anything that they went with all “State” schools? If they get back to 12…that would have to change. Cal and Stanford have to go back to the PAC….right!?!? They need to look in the mirror and realize they are still “new PAC 12” level.

The Pac-2 and MW shoulda merged under the Pac12 banner. Would’ve made the most sense. Neither strengthened their conference and won’t have Power 5 status.

If so, it’s all justified, as silly as all this seems. They’re probably not done going after the top couple schools in the AAC. That would solidify it.

In football it will be the best G6 conference but I think it’s going to be a strong basketball conference with Gonzaga in the mix. TXST needs to get their basketball program in check when we get into the league or we are going to get run out of the gym every year.
