I would posit that this is the biggest win of Kelly’s career.

His record against the top 25 is relatively poor and this game was as big for his legacy as any he has ever coached. While I do still have concerns about some of the on-field decisions, the man can definitely manage a big time program and I was happy to see him get that monkey off his back - at least for a while.

Now I await him vanquishing another monkey - not slipping up in one or two games he should win.

Proud of the coach and the Tigers. Hoping they keep the pedal to the metal all year!

Well, it's the first big win since Bama year one. The team looks to have some real potential. We'll see.

Biggest at LSU and great to tamp down a narrative that had been building. Don’t honestly know enough about his career to say where it ranks all time.

Why all the back handed compliments since we won? You miserable fricks just HAVE TO have something negative to say.

We won, yeah but...blah blah fricking blah. Being an LSU fan and having to constantly read this shite is exhausting. You complain when we win. You complain when we lose. We won, but well we didn't win the "right" way. It's a good win, but we did all this wrong.

How about no negative comments. I know you guys balled out on the 8th grade football team so you are superiorly qualified to question everything, but let's just support coach and this team every game every week. Win or lose.

And that is BK's fault. We fired Oeaux only to gave a coach that couldnt win out the gate. He is also averaging over 3 losses a year and had the opportunity to have a Heisman Trophy winner on his team.

Its not the fans fault BK has built "this" reputation at LSU.

Maybe he finally does something...

No and no to Bama.
He won a play off game to get to the title. He won a title at D2.
This isn’t his biggest win and neither was Bama.

LSU fired O and not your sorry arse. I bet you have never given a penny to the AD.
Secondly, Orgeron was fired because he flat out destroyed the program he inherited. Kelly has had to deal with NOTHING NO LSU COACH HAS INCLUDING SABAN - rebuilding in an unlimited transfer portal AND NIL ERA. LSU - like it or not - is second tier in spending on NIL for FOOTBALL because they were revenue sharing with other sports with football getting 1/3 of the budget versus other schools. 8MM in 2023
Put them mid-tier SEC. It takes talent to win.

Get the hellmout of here with your bull shite.

How about that’s not how being a college football fan or an LSU fan works. We can make negative comments all day long and still be realistic. Brian Kelly earned the narrative that had been building. Now he’s got a shot to earn a better narrative.

Fact is Oeaux has a title and BK doesn't.

I dont like BK. I dont think he is a good fit for the culture of our team. Even still I make it to a few games a year, buy new LSU gear every year, etc.

And that is LSU's and BKs fault. You cant be the HEAD GUY at LSU and blame everything around you. He said he specifically took this job to win a title. He is far from it.

No. I am happy about the win but this is the first time, under him, we have started off with a win. I think the fans have a right to be gun shy.

O lost openers in 20 and 21 to start that streak - to Moo State and UCLA.

what does this have to do with this statement?

Did he or did he not flat out destroyed the football program? How many scholarship players were left when he left? How about the reputation of being so stupid to bringing a woman and her kids to practice? Lack of discipline on his part transcendent lack of discipline of his players.

Same shite was said about Saban while your sorry arse was in Nutville - “Der, he is not like us”. Let me tell you what people think - “win fricking games and EVERYONE LOVES YOU. That is fricking stupid to think winning doesn’t solve everything.

Are fricking stupid? LSU - the university and the fricking AD decided how money was divided up.
BK had to donate his OWN MONEY for us to get enough to manage. money.
BKs “salary actually puts him at 8-9 in the SEC in salary when you consider him giving 1MM of his salary 2/3 years to LSU.

Your choice or not to support the team. Doesn’t matter what you or anyone else thinks - including me as a donor, albeit not at the highest level for football as academics. It is about what the AD, Interim LSU President thinks and those larger donors.

Kelly made it to a NC game at ND. Most likely the biggest win of his career to date is when he was the HC there. I’d say beating Bama year 1 remains his biggest win at LSU.

I’m not a CBK hater, but he did take this job and the hefty salary that comes with. Mediocrity was not the goal. Winning a Natty was. Let’s GEAUX get it done this year CBK.

Fans aren't gun shy. 90% of us are thrilled right now. Everyone acknowledges that it’s a long season but that was a HUGE win. Only the 10% of fans who are always negative or have it out for BK are “gun shy” and still spending time running down the coach on message boards.

It most certainly wasn't "destroyed"...

You seem way to emotional about this. What does me being gun shy about BK's 1st opening game win have to do with supporting the team?

Its more of a "cautiously" optimistic.

I give him credit for the win, getting us a D that looks really good, making moves in the off season getting some key guys, etc.

I would be totally happy to have him prove me wrong. Hey, he proved me wrong already. I didn't think we would look as good as we did.

Kelly coached a team to the national championship game. Don’t be so dense. This is a great win for us, but this isn’t his biggest win of his career.

Let’s keep chopping wood.
