Congrats on beating Clemson at the fake Death Valley. Hoping we come into BR both 2-0 and healthy. With that being said y'all were very hospitable and courteous when we last visit in like 2019. We booked a hotel way in advance and had access to the Halliburton tailgate. This year is more of a spur of the moment trip. We are driving over from Texas Friday the 12th. Should we stay in Lafayette and drive to the game? Is parking and leaving a nightmare? Should we do airbnb in BR and rideshare? There will be 5 of us. Also we will gladly pay to attend a tailgate that offers TV, high noon lime, and of course the finest cajun dining.

Well we can’t let that happen again.
Just kidding. Hope you have a great time up until kickoff.

Lafayette just to get out of BR after game. Usually hitting west is quicker than getting out east.
It will be a nightmare before and after traffic wise.

Getting in and out of Death Valley is always tough, but you don’t have to compound it by adding getting in and out of Lafayette to the equation lol.
Neat little town with really nice people. Infrastructure is New Orleans level bad.

Where would you recommend staying? We will be leaving Fort Worth around 4 pm on Friday.

Lafayette is actually a good option if you’re going back to TX the next day.
I would try to stay in or around River Ranch or downtown, unless travel efficiency is the only consideration. If that’s the case, just stay along the interstate.
The exits on the eastern edge of town are sketchy, especially the 10/49 intersection.

In my experience parking at one of the churches for like 20 bucks and walking across campus is easier and faster than parking anywhere else and waiting an hour to get off campus.

Laplace. About 45 mins southeast of BR along I-10 toward Nola. That’s if y’all are just trying to get in and out of BR. A little further trip for you but may be less of a head ache getting in and out of BR.

Why would you tell him to go east when he's going back to Texas? Maybe see if you can find a hotel in Lobdell. You'll have a 15 min drive to campus.

Don’t do air bnb in BR or you might be murdered. Or else spend a lot and make sure you get in a good neighborhood.

You’ve come to right place.
frick you. And welcome.
I always have opposing fans in my tailgate. Come up. Be respectful. Take your Tiger baiting with a smile. You’ll have more to eat and drink than you can imagine.
Workable, but some risk. You’ve got to cross the Basin. Whatever you do, leave WAY early.
Rideshare works great TO a game. It’s a nightmare AFTER a game. Find a place to park, pay, and walk it.
Good luck. Have a great time in the best venue in sports. And STTDB.

Breaux Bridge.
There's a Walmart right by the interstate if you need anything on the way in or out.

Yeah, that's no shite. It's probably 50 minutes from exit 104 to the Highland/Nicholson exit.
I'd plan on that being an hour and 50 minutes.

Could be hours if there is a wreck at Whiskey Bay.

Seeing as how you will be leaving before the 4th quarter, you shouldn't have any issues getting out.
I kid. I kid.
Seriously, don't be in ANY hurry to leave. Find a hospitable tailgate with a TV and watch some late action.
These days, an RV is probably your best option if you can park it nearby. Gives you the option of trying to get out or just go to bed and get up early for the drive the next day.
Either way, enjoy, and remember as long as you aren't thin-skinned the LSU folks will treat you well. Most of them love to show off their Cajun cooking, so go hungry.

Holiday Inn Express in Breaux Bridge
Has several rooms left. Right off I-10. Plenty of gas stations and fast food joints at exit.
$160 night

I am going to go ahead and warn you now. With us winning vs Clemson and assuming a victory over LaTech for LSU this will be a BIG fricking game from a crowd perspective. High ranked games vs a SEC rival may put 200k plus on campus for the game if the weather is good so get there early and bring an extra liver. Geaux Tigers!

Least hassle would honestly be finding a place in BR — if you can avoid having to get back over the bridge on gameday (if y’all aren’t driving back the day of) then I would.
If you are going back to TX after the game Saturday then it doesn’t really matter. My advice (to stay on the East side of the Mississippi River bridge in or around Baton Rouge) is assuming y’all head back Sunday.
Otherwise Breaux Bridge is also not a bad idea — unless you are looking to actually find something to do where you stay. It’s a farm town, barely anything. Would be cheap + safe + minimal traffic & there is a wal mart.
Lafayette is a cooler spot, but it depends on your priorities.
