You do need to take 3 points on the road at the end of the half. That was stupid. And the call with 14 seconds and no timeouts was even dumber.

But he gets a pass because of the win and the rest of the game performance.

BK - B we got a big win on the road, a lot of intangibles and prep goes into that. Didn't get an A b/c of the halftime decision and not kicking field goal AGAIN

OC - B, we started the game very vanilla. we see Nuss run play and look how positive it was, wasn't even touched. we have to do that this year. A few good calls mixed in there.

DC - A great game plan, would have been an A+ but we spent a ton of money helping him . lol

I wasn’t super impressed with Sloan, but I can understand it. He was calling the game similar to how Texas and Ohio State called theirs. Very conservative because of how well the defense was playing. So while I’m not going to say he called a bad game at all, I would like to see more going forward.

Nice to see Blake Baker's unshakable intense disposition in the closing minutes of the game vs House's permanent shock and fear just saw a ghost look.

I agree with both points. My grades:
Baker DC - A+
Sloan OC - B+
Kelly HC - A-

I have been a frequent critic of Sloan on 2 points: First, his lack of using the wildcat/direct snap to a RB on certain occasions and second, his lack of screen passes, misdirection plays, etc. Well, he had middle screens, that quick pass to the sideline which he had tried before but without adequate blocking, and using a WR in motion not as a sweep but turning it inside. Those three plays run multiples times were creative...at least for him. He even employed the WR coming around and throwing a pass which worked for some yardage. Also, with a GOOD center this season, I like the 2 QB sneaks which gave LSU 2 first downs. His grade is only a B+ because most of those creative plays didn't happen until the 2nd half.

Notes...Joe Sloan has improved honestly regardless of what anybody says. That 3rd quarter was the 1st time I ever saw him have a diverse array of plays. Blake baker was magnificent! He will be getting phone calls after this season after his brilliance last night. Special teams was solid. Cbk had this team ready for the game and moment.
