Yes, they showed some wrinkles in the second half to keep Clemson on their toes, but let’s not act like Sloan’s deficits as a play caller aren’t going to keep us stressed this year…

That said, I’m excited…Geaux Tigers!

Edit: For better or worse, we did run the same pass play 3 times in a row daring them to stop it and it worked

We're just working his inner thighs. More later (hopefully)...

First-game victory for the first time in 6 years -- check.

Rag on bad coaching that got us there -- check.

I need to see a stronger intermediate passing game. Its mostly quick screens or bombs. Those screens are basically extended handoffs. Put that together and you have a very Les Miles scheme last night. 2019 LSU made their money on the 10-20 yd range passes.

Fantastic? Did you watch that 1st half? If we had last years defense, we lose the game.

I thought the route designs and playcalling was great minus the shots on first down. I thought the lack of using some traditional runs with our runningback early on was an issue, specifically on first down

Fantastic? We threw long on first down a ton, then followed it up with 2nd and long runs a bunch. I would call it far from fantastic

Keep your weak arse stressed all year maybe. That was a well called game on the road against top 5 team in country. They did go a little conservative late in 2nd half but with this defense you can do that. Was very impressed with the run game. Very creative schemes for a new Oline. Give credit where credit is due.

Scripted plays terrible, first half bad to decent. Second half pretty good.

His propensity to be super conservative especially when trying to sit on a one score lead will catch up with us this year.

No killer instinct - just like Kelly.

He had some conservative play calls but he was great in the 2nd half.

Not every single call is going to work but he did a great job mixing up looks, getting our guys the ball with space and mixing up the run game

Only complaint is I want to push the ball down the field more but that was an outstanding defense and it should have finished 27-10

Well we don’t, hence why they called it conservative to not lose the game and have a big mistake take the game away from us.

They made the adjustments and we drug our nuts all over Clemson. Are you not entertained?

Maybe after getting the first game win, BK will allow Sloan to be more aggressive in the first two drives to start games.

You could see the difference in calls once we got to the third drive.

I also think BK shut it down late to ensure we didn’t implode with a turnover and put it on the D to win.

Sloan was in a nice groove from the early 3rd until around 5 mins left in the 4th when he got cold feet. If he could scheme an entire game like that, we would be in fricking business.

But he’s GOT TO frickING QUIT MESSING AROUND AND DO IT. Give us an entire game schemed well vs an SEC-level opponent. Nuss has the tools. The OL doesn’t suck. We have the weapons. Just fricking do it.

Yeah I thought that was clear.
Many 3rd and long with plays happening well behind the LOS for Butkus. I guess the W made some forget about it.

The TD no call and not taking the FG is 10 points that were musts. That’s a completely different game. When your defense is playing that good you don’t risk a turnover.

The RPO slants to Anderson were unstoppable. I think we had 3 and all were completions in that intermediate range. I know we can’t live on that, but there’s a lot more that can be done in the RPO route and scheme-wise to hammer the middle and to use that to open holes for Durham in the run game.

I totally agree.

But everyone roasting Sloan last night also needs to understand he has Kelly in his ear giving directions.

If Kelly wasn’t happy with the calls, he would say, WTF are you doing, open it up.
