Alright, so RFK Jr. opened his mouth again and let something dumb fall out—this time saying folks with autism can’t hold down jobs a few months back.

That’s the kind of blanket statement that plays well in a soundbite but falls apart the second you meet, well, basically anyone on the spectrum who’s actually living their life.

It’s like saying LSU fans can’t drink beer before noon. Sure, some can’t—but have you ever been to Tiger Stadium?

Take my buddy Bob. Dude works steady at the New Orleans Public Library system. Shows up, clocks in, does the job, helps people every day as a full time cataloger.

No drama, no excuses. High functioning Autism doesn’t stop him from being reliable, consistent, and valuable to his team. In fact, he’s sharper than half the people RFK Jr. probably hires. The truth is, people with autism aren’t a monolith. Some may struggle, some may thrive—but to say they can’t work? That’s just lazy, half-baked nonsense.

We’re too afraid to admit that public schools have failed special needs kids within special education. All they need is the right environment to succeed.

No matter the education. Some with autism will not hold jobs

There are autistic kids/young adults that had parents with means to Leann outside public schools that still can live on their own.

Anyone who reported or believed that RFK Jr. was making this statement about all children with Autism is either a liar or stupid.

Perhaps both.

So...he was off by 15%?

We know some autistic people can functionally exist in the general population with no problems.

SFP has been proving that to me everyday for the past 20 years.

One needs to understand that autism can have different severities.

Correct

Many can’t

Many can only hold very basic jobs

Then there’s Elon Musk

I can assure you from experience

Many “functional” autistic people have serious issues with daily life

My best friend has a three year old boy with autism. He is non-verbal. He isn't likely to ever work, and certainly lnothing that would allow him to support himself.

#1 - why begin a sentence with “Alright”? You didn’t want to go full millennial and roll with “I mean…”?

#2 - bullshite. What you posted is evidence of your gullibility in believing whatever the media tells you to believe.

We need you to figure out a way to become smarter. I’ll take a stab at it.

When you see the following quote, do you see any red flags ?
quote:

People with autism "will never pay taxes, they'll never hold a job, they'll never play baseball, they'll never write a poem, they'll never go on a date"

It should be glaring. Why do you think members of the news media, or activist groups (pardon the redundancy) would trim a quote like that? They could have posted the entire quote, but didn’t. They even showed you that they selectively edited the quote by starting the sentence with their own lead in phrase without quotes. They must know that people (like you?) are extremely stupid.

Here’s his full quote from a transcript:
quote:

These are kids who, many of them, were fully functional and regressed because of some environmental exposure into autism when they were two years old, and these are kids who will never pay taxes, they’ll never hold a job, they’ll never play baseball, they’ll never write a poem, they’ll never go out on a date. Many of them will never use a toilet unassisted, and we have to recognize we are doing this to our children, and we need to put an end to it

Notice the phrase “many of them” both precedes and follows the selected quote.

How many media sources, to include autism research and support organizations chose to create a false impression of what he actually said? It changes their entire narrative of what he said, doesn’t it. They depend on lying in order to depict him as wrong.

Stop being so gullible. Become an advocate for truth. Maybe others will follow your example.
