Apparently happened in May they just let him come back to the team and keep practicing like nothing happened.

Killed a 4 year old, a 10 year old, and a 78 year old

Lock him up for a long long time

We've now learned he was in fact speeding, but the original report positioned the accident as grandma (the 78 year old) took too long to turn across a highway and he t-boned her. It was entirely reasonable he might not be charged and the U wasn't exactly in the wrong to not do anything. A conviction might still not even be likely

To be clear the kids died because they weren't wearing seatbelts and got ejected. He should pay for his repeated recklessness but they're alive if grandma and the other adult were responsible

Bottom line is a lot of people shouldn't be driving / breeding

If true that they turned into oncoming traffic then yeah not on him

This is why everyone should have a dashcam. Should be required by law. They are cheap

I haven't seen anything official on whether the occupants of the car he hit were wearing seatbelts or in a car seat but officials have said that the grandma was making a legal turn and the damage to the car he hit was extensive:

They were making a left across a divided highway. His issue is that right of way doesn't mean you can be changing lanes like a lunatic and hit a turning car going 70+ in a 40 with total impunity

70 isn't too fast that a competent driver shouldn't be able to see it, particularly given it was 2pm and it's a straight north-south street. This falls on 2 shitty drivers

They say he had some reckless driving tickets prior to this.

I think all the rumors blaming the dead have come from Miami fans rationalizing him coming back to the team.

im thinking the Elderly driver only glanced at the incoming traffic before very slowly turning like a old person.. didnt expect a car going 70 instead of 30

There are bushes in the median that make it hard to see, especially when a car is doing 70 and accelerating at you. If he was in the left lane before he cut across 3 lanes he could have come into the line of sight late.

a legal turn
As "legal" entails yielding to oncoming traffic with right of way, his defense will be arguing that by definition a legal turn and an accident are mutually exclusive

It's going to be a tough conviction. It took over 3 months for charges for a reason

Yea but this player has so much potential and his whole life in front of him too. It makes sense if they only sentence him to community service and let him keep playing football and earn money through NIL.

70.8 mph five seconds before the crash and "accelerated to a maximum speed of 78.9 mph in a posted 40 mph zone at the time of the crash," police said.

Court records previously reviewed by The Athletic show at least a half-dozen other driving incidents in the last two and a half years, ranging from speeding (84 mph in a 55 mph zone) to an improper lane change and near-collision with a police vehicle.

Lock his arse up. He obviously hasn't learned his lesson and three people are dead because of it

No intention to make light of the situation with this comment

Sounds like Bama players when they become pros, vehicular homicide and recklessness

These kids now have generational wealth at 18. There will be many innocent deaths as a result.
