Westman idolized mass killers. Under this INSANE woman's logic that was ok and should have been encouraged. Is that not how killers like the ones at Columbine were enabled?

Orrrrrrr, hear me out, since we possess a much higher level of critical thinking and logic, we don't.

Correct them and help them when they can’t understand the consequences because their brains are not developed enough yet to be trusted to make permanent decisions

I think her message is too extreme, but I think the statement could be "it's our job to listen and understand where they are coming from"

I know this board is old school, but if I had a son who told me he wanted to be a woman, I would be incredibly curious to know why he was feeling that or why he thought that. I definitely wouldn't start the conversation by telling him that what he's feeling isn't valid. I've never felt it, so how could I know?

So if your son tells you he is a pirate, I expect an amputation of one of his legs immediately….right?

I agree

When our children tell us that they are mentally ill, the parents do need to listen and work towards understanding and medical assistance.

And look at her shirt. That shirt pretty explicitly implies that if you won’t affirm a child’s mental delusion and butcher a child that you should be fricking stabbed and killed. Is anyone in the press going to ask her about that?

She means "we should listen to them when they tell us they want to be something that falls in line with our cultural Marxist orthodoxy. Otherwise, we need to heavily medicate them and send them to a mental health quack for reconditioning."

Some people on the internet told him to is why he thought that.

I think child services would have a word with me if I started feeding my little T-rex's live goats.

My 6 year old niece told me she was a cheetah. Guess it's time for her to get spots tattooed all over body.

I thought I was a pirate when I was 5 so I told my mom I was. She lopped off my hand and it replaced with a hook, then poked out my left eye and made me wear a patch. Such a loving mom.

This is called excellent parenting and excellent empathy and listening. In other words “hippy dippy progressive filth “

Agreed. So when they are essentially asking for mental health help, get it for them.

My five year old told me the other day that he was a pirate. I pretended to fight him and not let him take my treasure, when I should have cut his leg off and snatched out his eye/given him an eye patch. And now I feel like an awful parent.

How bout parents preventing their children from ever getting that far. It's a bad word these days but the word is

DISCIPLINE.

That’s nothing. My son has told me that he’s a Ninja Turtle. We’ve already dyed his skin green and removed his middle and ring fingers, and next week we’re going to take him in for his shell installation.
