UPDATE for ESPN: LSU safety A.J. Haulcy will not play in the first half of the Clemson game, the NCAA tells ESPN. Per the NCAA: “In the last game of the 2024 season, A.J. Haulcy was ejected from the contest, initially listed as unsportsmanlike conduct
but clarified postgame that game officials ejected the player for fighting. Fighting carries an automatic carryover penalty.”
Haulcy is a top safety and a key member of LSU’s secondary. Per NCAA, there’s no appeal.

If tweet fails to load, click here. This press conference is his regularly scheduled Thursday press conference during the season...
Tidbits from press conference:
- Team found out about Safety's AJ Haulcy's status issue on Wednesday.
- Kelly said they are waiting for further guidance from SEC and NCAA on his status and expect to get an answer very soon.
- Background: AJ Haulcy was in an on-field altercation at the end of his last game last season at the University of Houston. Since Houston didn't have a bowl game, there is concern that Haulcy may have to sit out the first half of the Clemson game.
- Separately, Safety Tamarcus Cooley is eligible to play in the first half.

If Clemson’s interference causes Halcey to sit the first half I really hope we stomp their asses worse than the natty game…

If the Haulcy sit out is happening, I hope this gives the team extra motivation to embarrass the f out of Clemson.

Either we didn't do our due diligence
or
Clemson lobbied successfully to get one of our players suspended.

An LSU spokesperson said neither the Southeastern Conference or LSU were aware of the potential suspension and that Clemson reported the suspected issue.
Welp. Hope we curb stomp those assholes!

If he slams both fists and screams 'what in the wide, wide world of sports is going on here?!" with his best Slim Pickens accent then I'll defend his contract till the day I die.

Do everything we can to get Perk to light up Klubnik on first/second play. Make em regret making the call.

Option 3 is, this is a nothing burger trumped up by (yet another) Clemson fan stirring up rumors.

According to multiple reports, it appears both safeties should be good to go given their ejections were due to unsportsmanlike penalties and not fighting, but will be a critical storyline to monitor heading into Week 1.
Sports illustrated says nothing burger.

If we didn't already have a reason to kick their shite in then now we do.
Then again I hope this isn't gonna lead to an excuse if that ends up being the difference in a negative way.
