Big Ten to 20 Teams?

Let the discussion begin on who the next teams would be?

At 20 teams, is it even a conference anymore?

At 20 teams, the Big 10 would still be a weak conference

Only 4 more than SEC?

Do you really think the issue means we should ponder the definition of the word conference?

At this rate, the B1G and SEC are going to absorb the other power conferences, they'll need to break into geographic divisions for reasonable scheduling and rivalry preservation, and then we'll basically be back to where we were 35 years ago.

If I had to put money on it, this is how I think it shakes out 10 years from now, with ND and Miami in the BIG.

The B1G is the absolute fricking worst. It’s a 3.5 team league parading as a legit power conference

The B1G are the ones who led the demise of what college football once was and mainly due to their own greed and insecurity with the SECs rise in success.

They should absorb everyone then just have divisions. Could be Atlantic division, southern division, pacific division and Midwest division.

Man I hate to think what the SEC is considering they took the SEC out back and had their way with them in 2024

5-1 against the SEC in the postseason including 2 playoff wins. Ooof

Does it matter now?

NIL, Transfer, How many teams absurd playoffs?, two giant "Conferences"? Yeah, the NFC/AFC...

NFL has " transitioned " its farm system from being "quasi-independent" of the NFL...to a little facsimile of big brother, to make all football charmless and corporate.

Actually, I can see the Big Ten adding North Carolina and Virginia due to he Academic standards the Big Ten has for new members.

well yea. Its really well known those two are the biggest prizes across the board. I personally think the SEC gets them but both are the prize followed by Clemson, FSU, GT and Miami

ND is the biggest prize of all but Sankey would never ever allow the playoff rules to change before ND is out of the ACC contract. Because if they are forced to join a conference, right now its the ACC. Neither SEC nor the B1G want that because it messes up their long term plans.
