Been married 21 years. Got into it last night over something stupid and was called a MF. Finding it tough to move on and get that out of my head. How often, if ever, has that happened to you? How did you get past that or is it just a given that it happens from time to time and you have learned to “normalize” it?

Not sure I could normalize name calling

Well, if you have kids, she's technically right.

Everybody has a bad day. Roll with it and move on.

I start gaslighting my children to take my side

How did you make it 21 years before being called a motherfricker??

You would have been traumatized growing up in my parents house.

you're assuming she's still putting out - I know of some who stopped after kids (not mine, wouldn't be around long if she had)

Have grace.
Let it go.
If it becomes a more common occurrence, judging from the length of your marriage, you may ask her to get her hormones checked- she might be having issues.

Hallway sex is sometimes the only sex I get. We pass each other in the hall and we both tell the other “frick you”.

Did she apologize? If she apologized, its not that big of a deal. But if she hasn't acknowledged what she said then you should probably talk to her about it. It can hurt when an S.O. says something like that to you, but shite happens in the heat of the moment, and if she acknowledges what she said and apologizes then move on and forget about it.
but yeah, what were y'all fighting about?

This is what we call in the biz, The Rabbit Engulfs the Gun. Essentially her vag in the last 21 years has outgrown the feeling of your little pistol, and she is now subconsciously craving a 12 gauge. Sorry man, it's not your fault just genetics.

My first wife, which is why she's my ex. Undiagnosed or treated post-pardum messes their brains up

She apologized; I accepted
