His contract is guaranteed and he’s a big special teams contributor. He’s not getting released this year.

If Diggs hadn't clearly outperformed Foskey, the guarantee and special teams contribution might be a factor. Foskey has days left with the Saints, unless some freak injury happens.

I don't see a path for him to make the 53 but stranger things have happened.

I think he does get released, but it might not be in the first cut down, they may drop to 53 with him on there and then after waivers let him go to try and sneak him on to the PS

He's just not a 53 man roster guy. He stinks

I think foskey is a better fit on our defense moving forward but i still dont' think he's beat out a number of LB'ers and hybrid type players we have on the roster. Either way, i don't give a frick what the staff does. They will do what they feel is best. Insert the posts of the 100 other players we should have drafted cause we have all know it alls on this board.

That's the problem

he is, and they played him more snaps than anyone and he still did nothing at all

I think Foskey stinks. If that means he's a fit so be it. Maybe he's stashed on the PS if they somehow saw something. Can you imagine the bum rush by other teams to grab him though? Whew

He's on special teams but he's not a special teams standout like JT Gray. No doubt in my mind one of the younger LBs like Jayln Ford or Stutsman could do that role.

I’ll be working on that as soon as he’s released. Wanna take a wild guess who will be at the top of the list?

obviously we fricked up not drafting puka nacua. he's the obvious choice when 176 picks were made before him. boy 32 teams really fricked up on that one.

Didn’t know Puka made all American teams, and was one of the best defensive players in the country on one of the better teams and considered a top 15 lock until the combine.

Easy screw up because of that darn RAS score.

Depends on how they feel about his special teams contributions vs others. We have the cap to absorb his small hit if we do decide to cut him, but there would have to be enough bodies at OLB (which we are low on) and special teams to force him out.

Edit:
At OLB we are likely to keep 4 or 5, and Foskey is in that competition with Diggs for the 4th spot if it's only 4. If it's 5 we'll keep both. Young, Granderson, and Jordan are the locks and I think they'll want some depth there.

We may go light on Oline for the 53 given some injuries, but stash more on the PS, so a 5th spot isn't out of the question.

Teams used to trade their “bust players” to another team for their “busts” all the time, Saints included. We don’t see that as much anymore. In Foskey’s case maybe his contract $ plays a role.

Young man proved in college he has the potential. What’s missing? Heart, confidence , intellect, instinct, health?

The truth is that he looks totally uninterested. He should be cut.
