I went bar hopping last night for the first night in a month in Little Rock. One month ago I went to the local almost dead Bar Louie by the house and got 2 coors light bottles for 11$. I was shocked but paid it with a tip . I went down the street 2 miles to another bar and the same two Coors light bottles was 6 something. I haven't been to that bar in years. That bar with the cheaper beer also had a much better crowd. Last night I went to a large night club on i30 and the Mick's were 5.50 at one island, and Millers were 4.75 at another . We are talking longneck glass bottles. In the past, all these were the same 2.50 or so wherever you went in town depending if the place charged tax or that was factored in. Has anyone experienced this?
I almost get the sense bartenders are charging whatever they want within a price range right now of 3.50 to 5.50 . The same radical price change also was noted last night prior to going to the large club. One bar in an upscale neighborhood 7 miles away from me was 5.50 for Coors, down the street 2 miles from there and close to downtown 3.75. In the last instance, I did notice the first bar was glass bottle, the second was an aluminum shaped longneck , same 12 ounce
anyone here familiar with little rock bars were talking the new town pump , grumpy's, hillcrest fountain and electric cowboy

$11 for 2 beers would be cheap around here. Most bars I go to in Dallas 2 coors lights are $7-8 each but I admit I never drink lights, just Banquet. These are dive bars not fancy places.

Sounds about right for what I see in Houston, and I'm not going anywhere fancy. I don't drink a lot of beer, but I see the specials listed. "Specials" now are like $3.25 or something.

I too get irrationally irritated at ignoramus use of dollar signs as well.
Fun (unrelated) fact-
Japanese Yen have no plural/singular morphological form.
It’s one yen or two yen or one hundred yen.
The symbol also goes before the number ¥1, ¥2, ¥100.

We know where the best happy hour prices are, be it food or drinks. Draft beer is fine by us, usually cheaper than bottles. From 4 - 6 at our favorite steak house 16 oz drafts are either $2 or $3 for most domestics.

My watering hole is $3 per beer. Other places in town are $2.

Bars can name their own price. Alcohol is a drug and like any drug addict, alcoholics will pay whatever they charge.
Same reason you see people in the airport or at a sporting event paying $15 for a beer.
Glad it’s a problem I don’t have to deal with.

Can’t trust someone who says “11$” and “Mick’s”

I don’t drink or go to bars.
Any More but back when I did $3.50

Back in the good ole days you could buy a cold quart bottle of Jax or Fallstaff for 75 cents in Mississippi dive bars.

Electric Cowboy? If so, if you ever need to find a slump buster, that place is for you.

That place is horrible. Crap food, and a drink takes damn near half an hour. Wait staff gives zero shits.

Any bar selling a miller lite bottle for more than $5 should be shut down

I paid $44 for three “Surfsides” on Friday night at the Party Animals game in Starkvegas.
