10 digit dialing starts tomorrow for callers in the 318 area code.

quote:

Starting August 25, 2025, all local calls made within the 318 area code must be dialed using 10 digits (area code + the 7-digit telephone number). On and after this date, calls using just 7 digits will not be completed, and will be routed to an announcement.

Being in the 318 is God’s way of telling you that you were extremely bad in a previous life.

Does anyone even have landlines anymore? I'm in the 318. My cellphone auto populates the 318. You can simply search them, if a business, on your phone and click on call from the site. It's been done for you for years.

Businesses have landlines. We use them every day. Mostly to give them our cell numbers so they can just text us next time. But if you just dial the 3-4 format it won’t Geaux. My people will probably have an aneurysm tomorrow.

Baton Rouge is such a slum that an entire section of town seceded .

New Orleans is a flood zone with alcoholics and trannies.

318 ain't so bad when you compare it to 225 and 504

From the 318 but not in the 318 anymore... made it out alive to the 251.

We are building a new house and having landlines ran in the house because our area has terrible cell coverage.
